    Clean original Gen 2 GTS's will always be a good one to have. BTW, All 1999 ACR engines (motors) are cast aluminum (like all Vipers). Only the pistons were forged.

    Why do most early Vipers have flaps on side of the fan shroud?

    That's the 1999 to 2002 fan. The earlier ones had plastic doors instead of flaps all on one side.

    ABS and BRAKE warning lights on.

    This is an OLD thread, but in case anyone has the same issue it would be worth checking the reverse light switch on the trans. If that switch goes out (which is pretty common) it will turn the ABS & BRAKE light on in the message center (dash) if you have a 2001 or 2002 Viper with ABS.

    Four low mile Gen 1 & Gen 2's being sold No Reserve at Mecum this weekend...

    The Blue & White hammered at $84,700 with buyers fee. The 98 GTS-R only brought $95,700 after the fee. The 95 Yellow RT/10 $46,200 after fee. And the Black 2000 ACR came in at $85,800 with fee.

    Anyone going to the Mecum auction in Dallas this weekend? Some really neat Vipers look to be going on the block at no reserve. I would love to be able to buy that GTS-R. That has been a dream car for me for a long time...
