Carl, when you remove the sport shims it moves the steering racks inner tie rod rod pivot point move outboard (in relation to the upper and lower 'A' arm pivot centers), thereby creating toe out and changes to the bump steer geometry. I found I have to check and adjust for bump steer every time...
