Not sure if this applies to YOUR situation, but it seems to be a common problem with the ignition turnsdial where the key goes in to turn on accessories and start the engine. Finally bought a car and warning lights on on the way home
I had the same thing but my electric windows and lights worked intermittently too and replaced the key ignition switch, was able to retain the original key. This cleared up the issue.- jmarkovicj
