Mystery oil leak
Also check the ground wire on the engine. I had mine come loose on my 2000 viper and the steal braided oil lines became electrified and melted the rubber inside causing them to leak. Sounds funny but It's happened to quite a few people.- klpilot

I'm back and on the hunt for a GTS...
There's an 00 steel grey no stripes in Mt. Vernon, WA at a dealer. Asking 37... something. Check Auto Trader and/or Craigslist Seattle. It has a couple paint swirls, etc... but overall appears bone stock and in decent condition. The paint blemishes may be buffed out? They were asking a lot more...- klpilot

Gosh parting out? I've heard this often... I have a feeling if this were some preproduction corvette or comaro there would be a substantial movement to try and figure out a way to stop this. New ACR Owner, need advice
My 2000 rt/10 did the exact same thing when the hood wouldn't totally latch correctly. It only has happened a couple of times and never on my 97 gts. In my case was a simple open and re-shut firmly. You may have a bigger problem than I with that front latch... good luck and keep us posted- klpilot

Strange issue with lights, 2001 GTS
If they replaced the steel braided oil cooler lines then you probably have a bad ground. Mine leaked because the electrical system was using the braided lines when the ground contact was compromised.. it must have melted the rubber in the lines with the heat. Yeah I think the seatbelt was a major factor along with the door breaking... Yeah, it runs great and drives. Motor/tranny/rear end/brakes/susp/radiator look good. All it may need mechanically is a new electric fan and air filters. Looks like the hood braces took them out. Not sure how well...- klpilot

No after market roll bar. I can see a steel "roll bar" in the roof section. Interesting enough it looks like the driver door almost broke in half from my body impact on it. It appears this allowed my upper body to stick out of the car during the rolls. It's very scary... I hadn't seen the car in...- klpilot

Ha ha ha. I like JonB's story... Yeah, it still runs and drives... It still sounds really good...sadly. I was pretty ticked off at the copart guys when they decided it was a special jungle gym to jump on for rides! Some people just amaze me... I have no memory of the accident.
