valvecover vent tubes
I have a 96 GTS and I have a problem with the small rubber hoses which attach to the front face of the valve covers and come to a Y-fitting in the front of the engine.the rubber is broken down so the hoses leak at the covers & y-fitting. differential rebuild
Just wondering how difficult it is to rebuild a viper diff. I have access to all the tools needed and I consider myself a competent mechanic.I plan on replacing gears,bearings,etc... The shop manual gives detailed instructions.From what I gather, its a dana 44 in an aluminum case.- Matt Dumas

JonB, That would explain all the noise coming from the rear end. Rear end noises

Rear end noises
Rear end fluid is full.Car doesent make and chattering noises.Noise doesn't change by going around corners. Its definitely a bearing noise.- Matt Dumas

bearing noise in transmission?
It happens with clutch out or in ,and transmission can be in gear or in neutral.The noise is does not change by applying or staying off the brake.It seems to be coming from the trans. or rear end.Vipers dont have a driveshaft carrier bearing ,do they? bearing noise in transmission?

Bearing or transmission noise
