The serpentine belt that runs everything (including my Roe S/C) popped off the other day when I was moving my car in the driveway. I noticed it immediately when my steering lost power. Luckily I wasn't going anywhere.
Can someone tell me if this is the kind of thing that can "just happen", or...
I have a Gen I, and some pretty unbiased opinions.
I like...
* open top
* side pipes
I dislike
* no roll up windows
* open top (yea, that's a double edged sword)
* electronic parts are hard to find (OBD1)
* no cupholder
* doesn't come in silver
I would like a Gen II if i could get it...
About the clutches. Yes, the clutch is made of several plates. By the end of the race they are all one piece. When you get a rear view look at a launching dragster, you can see a horizontal spiral of black smoke/dust out the center of the car. That's the clutch disintegrating.
For a naturally asperated engine, the VEC2 might be over-kill. It's a good system, but it's $1000. The VEC1 doesn't give seperate control of fuel and timing, so if you really like to "tweak" your settings you'll want more.
Split second has a fuel/timing map system I'd like to check out. It's...
Did you ever run the Belanger exhaust with just the 2 mufflers? That's what I have now and it a bit too obnoxious. I was considering adding a 2 extras as well and would like to know the relative difference.
I think the Vec1, Vec2... guy was implying that the AEM solved the problem.
The coil pack statement is wrong for sure. I've tested every one of my cylinders while the car was idling and they all get spark.
I remember my instructions forgeting about the second box too. Apparently they haven't been updated since. I ended up with one box velcro'd behind the computer and the other box zip tied to the heater hose right behind the passenger side valve cover.
