rebuilding front calipers

I have a front left wheel that will lockup under moderate to hard braking. The right side will not lock until hard braking. I have bled the brakes,changed pads and turned the rotors. Next step, have the calipers rebuilt. Want to stay stock. Who specializes in rebuilding the calipers? Cost?

Tim's already got 40mm rears, so it's either a weight balance issue (although it's usually the right front that locks), a tire issue (personal experience says that 4-5 lbs difference between fronts can alter lock-up onset), or finally, a caliper that sticks. I've already emailed a friendly brake rebuilder, although I'd be looking at tires (and pressure.)

Maybe swap front tires side to side for a test and see if the problem follows the tires or not?

Thanks Tom for the info. I did try different tires and checked pressure,same story. Premature lockup on left front. I feel it's a caliper sticking.

The first thing I would be doing in my shop is connecting a brake pressure gauge to both front caliper bleeder screws. I have a set of 4 gauges for ABS service. Then start pushing on the pedal slowly with someone recording pressures stay the same through full pedal pressure. That eliminates hydralics and calipers if they stay the same then it's mechanical with pads or rotor finish or tires, Not likely tires to lock though. Forget tires. Seen lots of problem with collapsed brake hoses internally and goofy pads. Have even swapped pads side to side and changed the lock up.
