Looking to buy a nice set of BBS LM or Gen 2 (17" or 18") wheels for my Gen1 RT/10. I prefer wheels in like new condition with good tires (no hockey pucks please unless the price reflects it). But, tires are not a big deal if the wheels are 17" as I have 4 new Pilot Sport 17" tires on my factory wheels. PM me with what you have.

Thanks,
Tom

VPRVENM97 I took your advice and called Bernie. He had a set of BBS LM wheels, but sold them about two months ago. He's a nice guy and took the time to talk about what he had avail.

99R/T10 I like the look of the Gen3 wheels on Gen1/2 cars, but the cars seem to sit higher than stock with the Gen3's and I don't want to lower my car.

"but the ACRs are also lighter and better looking"

PUT DOWN THE CRACK PIPE!

OMG, now you are being a *****. I bet close to 90% of the people like the ACR rims over the BBS knock offs. And WITHOUT A DOUBT the acr rims are LIGHTER, because they are a 1 piece rim, not a 3 piece. Good try, but apparently that is you who has a crack pipe firmly in their hand.

Dont be angry Because I think ACR wheels look bad on a Gen1 RT/10.

And I bet that "90% of the people" would agree with that!

But thats what I think. Its not like Im trying to sell something!

PittsburghRT go with Gen 2 18"s thats your best bet for the $$$$$.

I'm not angry. I just think you are wrong, and I think you'll see people definitely like the ACR rims over the BBS LMs.

I dont think 90% of the people would say ACR rims look bad on a gen 1 rt/10, but I wouldnt know, I sure havent asked, as I'm not a huge gen 1 fan.

I guess its basically our opinions, and yep, I'm selling ACR rims, but if I wanted to have a set to beat on, I'd pick LMS cuz they are cheap, but if I wanted an OEM look for my car, lightest rims, and best looking oem rim, I would do ACRs. Thats it. Looks like others agree, because I keep getting offers :)

I like ACR wheels too, but I know what they sell for and I am not looking to spend that much. Jon's ACR wheels would be the perfect set to chrome.... I can picture my car with chrome ACRs and it would look awesome in my opinion. (I must be one of the strange 10% that think they would look nice) :)

Start with the toe, because I have no idea who told you ACR wheels were cast, DEAD WRONG. They are Completely forged 1 piece, and it IS lighter then the BBS LMs. Finish with the heel. :D :2tu:

99R/T10 Thanks for the link I saw those too on Ebay. The seller has zero feedback though.

FrankBarba I heard the CompCoupe wheels were of a different offset, they even look different in the pictures I have seen. If they were the ones that would work on my car I would buy them from you.

FYI - the BBS LM's are two piece wheels. The center is bolted to the one piece wheel section.

I believe what makes it 3 pieces is the wheel drum, the wheel hub and the bolts (3rd pieces) that attach the drum to the hub.

Otherwise, what would a 3 piece look like? There is the 3rd piece on a 3 piece?

The BBS LM wheels (that Jon B & most retailers sell are (2) pc. The (2) pcs consisting of the entire barrel assembly and the face (wheel hub pc) of the rim. The BBS rims that come with the Comp Coupe look similar to the BBS ACR and BBS LM wheels but are not the same. The offsets are completely different.
What makes up the ccomponents to a (3) pc rim are as follows: (1) inner barrel (2) outer barrel (3) face (Wheel hub pc). For racing purposes, a 3 pc has it's advantage in that if you bend a barrel, you can order just the part of the barrel that is bent. You can also purchase differnt barrels to increase the width of the tire you can safely mount on the rim. The Comp Coupe BBS rim is a (3) pc rim and you can order the differnt width barrels from the Comp Coupe spares catalog. The BBS LM wheel is widely used on the Daytona Prototypes in the Rolex Grand Am Racing series, however I think they are using the (3) pc version of the rim, (for the reasons I listed above)not the traditional (2) pc BBS LM that Jon B and other Viper/Porsche retailers sell for mostly street use. :)

Pittsburgh,

Don't wanna get into the "which wheels look better" debate. It's like exhaust sounds, all subjective. Like you, I prefer the looks of the BBS LM's on my 97. The ACR 's look good too. Which ever one you end up with will look great on your car.

Here are some examples of both wheels.

Frank thanks for the offer, but i'm not a big fan of CCW wheels.

Check with Frank to see what style he has. CCW's are high quality wheels with many styles. Some are similar to HRE in looks.

Those are CCW SP200 wheels, they are polished but I think they would look great painted silver.
