I have a 2009 red srt vert with 6500 miles. I Have the Chrysler extended 7yr 50k warranty. Come to find out that warranty isn't what it is cracked up to be. There is a laundry list of things it will not cover, including convertible top and all trim panels.

I have an issue with the plastic that surrounds the inner door handle. I went to order that little piece and was told it has to be the whole door panel at 1055.00. LOL Well I called SRT and am trying to get help from them with this door panel. Its unreal that they don't sell this little surround plastic piece that would probably be 30 bucks. It looks like a defect in the corner of the plastic and I had a guy look at it to buy the car and he wants that fixed. That is the only mark on this whole car and he saw it HAHAHAHA.

Well its been a week and half since I first called Dodge and spoke with a very nice women, Veronica today and she assured me she would get back to me after she talks with the dealership here in Rochester NY. I am hoping they will send me a new door panel.

I will keep you all posted. Warranty is worth it for like 800 or 900 bucks but the 1800 I paid is a Joke for what it covers. I hope I don't lose this guy he loves the car and agreed on 70400. but he wants me to take 1K off. lol

Seats, door panels, consoles, are usually considered wear and tear items and that is partly why you are having issues. Virtually all Limited Bumper to Bumper Extended Service Contracts ( Ford, GM, Chrysler, aftermarket ) do not cover what are considered wear items -- convertible tops are a good example , as are belts, hoses, and usually interior items. Good luck, but figured you might like to know why you are having concerns in getting it covered. Hopefully they can find a material flaw , but might be best to get ahold of Jon B at Partrack and see if he has that part off a salvaged panel. Keep us posted.

I agree with Bill.. I would not even expect that to be covered.. Aftermarket warranties are for the most part a good investment. But, read the contract. trim panels, clutch, hoses, brakes, tires(obviously) tops, paint, bushings,etc,etc.. all things usually not covered.(even with a new car)

This isn't a part that was damaged, it is a part that obviously has a defect in the plastic... its not cracked or chipped or broke. As you have all predicted they will not do anything for me. As I said before the warranty that I bought is pretty worthless unless you have a MAJOR
issue with the drivetrain or the steering. Funny thing is SRT is lacking in sales and the answer I got was its out of warranty. Once this is sold I have to really decide if a viper or the R 8 is my next car. When selling an extended warranty dealers should specify that they are NOT
bumper to bumper more like bumper to bumper minus from the door sills up lol

I feel ya and there is always fine print in extended warranties. I have the same plan but so far have not had to use it. Or should I say try to use it.
