    Heffner or Palo?

I've been searching both forums all day trying to find anytning on Heff's TT DIY. 1Tony told me about it, but I can't find squat on it.

How much is an '01 RT/10 going for these days?

Re: How much is an \'01 RT/10 going for these days? A year ago, I'd have said 53-55k; today, 55-58K. Gen II's have jumped lately. Don't sell it short.

    Very Aggressive street pad needed?

With ABS, I'd just do all four. Some people experiment with more/less aggressive pads F/R to control lock-up under various conditions, but I think ABS negates that.

    Roe vs. other SC's

Re: HP \"under the curve\" Just reading comments and looking at dynos, it always seemed to me that the roots or twin-screw blowers were less peaky than the centrifugal models. Looking at Roe's web page, their SC seems to make gobs of HP and TQ from way down low, like 2500 rpm. Isn't that a...

    Very Aggressive street pad needed?

Just one more comment: they squeak a bit, but only under mild braking. Brake hard and they're pretty quiet. Yes, they're dusty, but the wheels clean right up very easily (not a particularly oily dust.) Wouldn't drive with anything else here...

ZO6 to Viper -- Keep me out of trouble!!

You're going to have a couple of close calls, if you're like me, before you realize just how different the Viper is from your Vette. I went from a C5, modified pretty well, to my snake and almost killed myself the first couple of months. What I didn't expect was the sudden rear end rotation...

How Will DC/Viper Respond to The Z06?

Re: How Should DC/Viper Respond to The Z06? Well, they SHOULD respond by upping HP in 06 cpe to 550, at least. Then, as soon as possible, offer an ACR version of the coupe with CC oil system, Quaife, ACR shocks, 5 points, etc., etc.,... But, in the meantime, did you know that Woodhouse will...

    Very Aggressive street pad needed?

In my experience, BM3 pads work fine stone cold. Jon B warned me that if I feline-foot around town all the time and don't drive hard, they'll glaze over, then they will require beating on to get them to work. With slotted rotors, they haven't ever glazed on me, and, if you drive mostly in a...

    Very Aggressive street pad needed?

Brakeman 3's Have the same 40mm rear calipers as you, and very, very happy with these pads for over a year now. If you DON'T drive hard on the street, recommend slotted rotors to keep them from glazing from light use. Hell, recommend Stop Tech slotted rotors on front anyway, as they save...

    Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread>

My only experience with idle hang: Last summer, first really hot days, driving around in town, I saw temps climbing up a bit and idle started hanging up around 1500 rpm. Drove out the congested area and it still was hanging, parked, went in and ate lunch, came back out and car, having cooled...

    The Problem With Corvettes

Mid-years with big blocks sell for more than a new SRT coupe - yet a stock C5 owns them in every performance category. Nice show cars - not much go!

    Furry visitor in glove box!

Mice love cars! I had a huge nest under the hood of a BMW convertible I was mostly not driving that winter. Mice basically tore up a hammock hanging on the wall to build it, too! Phockers!

300 Km/h..it's a blast but will never do again on open road

Re: 300 Km/h..it\'s a blast but will never do again on open road No, with anywhere near stock HP, you max speed in 5th. 6th is just too high a gear to keep the engine in its torque range for those speeds, and when you shift, you actually will slow down. Here a link that explains it all. Efx...

Re: 300 Km/h..it\'s a blast but will never do again on open road more power to you! SRT Quad Cab stage 1 results.

Good work. I ran into a highly modified SRT ram the other day. I talked with the owner: custom fuel system with 300 shot of nitrous/propane, belanger headers and new exhaust, drag slicks on rear - it looked like a beast.

A new danger for everyday drivers

Well, as I said, I'm no lawyer, but I'd think that at least some consideration would be given to what constitutes your "person," and the security and right not to be stopped and questioned/searched. Does that extend to the horse your forefather was riding? If so, then why not your auto? Just...

A new danger for everyday drivers

That is really scary. Granted, the woman was clearly not cooperating, but that whole scene just seemed very wrong. To me, the whole idea of cops being able to make traffic stops (for less than criminal, life-threatening, clear and present danger kinds of situations) has always seemed to be one...

3:55, 3:33, 3:45 How does everyone like their gears

I think 3.54's would be a great choice for you. You definitely should consider Kumhos or Pilot Cups for at least the rear. Personally, the only reason I'd switch to 3.07s would be if I added forced induction. With around 435 rwhp, I'm fine with the 3.73s.

A new danger for everyday drivers

I would be aggressive about following up on this: they obviously weren't there in force to "see if you needed help with your broken-in garage door," they were coming for YOU. It's highly unlikely they even got a look at at the real "perp's" tag, probably weren't even sure of the make. It...

3:55, 3:33, 3:45 How does everyone like their gears

I don't understand that, downshift to 4th (4000 RPM or so at 80), wind it out to 120, shift to 5th, wind it out to 150 - what, you're in prime HP/torque territory all the way... One shift, in the zone all the way? Well, that's 3.73's, but I can't imagine taller gears would be worse?

3:55, 3:33, 3:45 How does everyone like their gears

Love my 3.73's! Always tho't they were 3.55s until I did a comprehensive road test and found the RPM/MPH points matched up with 3.73 instead! Thanks to whomever put these in! Sixth gear is very usable at 60 MPH now... :2tu:
