Very Aggressive street pad needed?

I need to replace my brake pads. Anybody have any ideas ? I have Toms 40mm's in the rear,steel braided lines and do very very aggressive street driving.I do take it on the track but do more street driving and consider the track a throw away.I know I cant have the best of both worlds and want the best performance on the street.I now have stock pads please give me ideas. I want the best stopping possible.:0

Steve, your parameters are very much like mine and I highly recommend ebc Reds. They are great for track and agg. street braking and no squeal and less dust than oem. I always buy thru AJ USA (look in google for .com ) as they have the best price and free shipping!! Greens are ok too.

Brakeman 3's

Have the same 40mm rear calipers as you, and very, very happy with these pads for over a year now.

If you DON'T drive ******* the street, recommend slotted rotors to keep them from glazing from light use.

Hell, recommend Stop Tech slotted rotors on front anyway, as they save weight and breathe better... Good cheap mod.

thanks for the response. I have heard EBC reds are not for heavy cars ?and the greens are worse then stock pads.

In my experience, BM3 pads work fine stone cold. Jon B warned me that if I feline-foot around town all the time and don't drive hard, they'll glaze over, then they will require beating on to get them to work. With slotted rotors, they haven't ever glazed on me, and, if you drive mostly in a spirited style, I doubt if they would glaze for you. But the slotted rotors really are nice, imo. And BM3's are terrific on the track!

I've had the B#3 on year-round before and didn't have a problem with stone cold conditions. The tires did, but not the pads. And I'm further north than you.

I hated my brakeman #3's on the street. So dirty and noisey. There is no question that they stop better than anything I tried (factory pads and EBC greens). I'm wondering if the EBC reds wouldn't be better for aggresive street driving.

Just one more comment: they squeak a bit, but only under mild braking. Brake hard and they're pretty quiet. Yes, they're dusty, but the wheels clean right up very easily (not a particularly oily dust.)
Wouldn't drive with anything else here...

For the past 4 years I used EBC greens on the street and switched back to OEM pads for the 1 or 2 track ventures per year I managed to get in. Last fall I put Tom's 40MM calipers on--still had the EBCs on. This spring, I switched to B3s and like them so much for stopping--track or street--that I'm leaving them on all the time. I'll put up with a little dust. I actually feel a little safer in the car with the improved brakes and pads.

With ABS, I'd just do all four. Some people experiment with more/less aggressive pads F/R to control lock-up under various conditions, but I think ABS negates that.
