I had the same issue with my SRT TP on my first track outing-stock pads- but it got much better after that. No problems now. Have about 10 track days now and the car is running very strong. Corsa's suck, would never use again but, with R6s the car is VERY FAST !!! Allan
Just make sure it's all the way in until finished or, it might spurt out the holes in the nozzle. Happened to me and got all over the side of the car. Allan
For a great every day and 2-3 times a year track car there is NO comparison - get the 4S. For a car that is compromised for daily driving but HAS NO comparison - get the Viper. Allan
Have/had GT3s. No Black Series. Yes., AMP is not a match for RA or Barber but, it has it's own strengths and is available to me 2-3 days every week. The "others" aren't. Allan
Ps, I'll be at R/A THIS weekend (MVP) .
Bluestreak, Yes it is AMP. Smooth, tight, mucho blind elevation changes, one long fast sweeper. I think 16 turns 1.8 miles. The sweeper can be intimidating - it leads on to the front strait. If your ever in the in Atlanta area, come check it out. allan
Well, here is the latest: Car ran like a banshee and handled much better. New front Corsa's, 225f / 200r canister pressures, compression and rebound 9 (from full soft) ALL around, tires 33f, 30r HOT, weather hot and humid. Car was flat in corners and totally responsive.I did have one serious...
The tires are "asymmetrical" Can't be moved side to side or flipped. New tires installed, canister pressures increased, camber front -2.4. I'll update soon. allan
Mark, What springs did you settle on? Can you comment on the front canister location in the engine compartment vs. wheel well? I'm getting my car back tomorrow with new front tires and increased canister pressures, I'll let you know how it works out. Allan
Ok, My shop wanted to start over, but I'm convinced this is a matter of spring rate & canister pressure. Putting on new Corsa fronts and raising pressure this week. If there is an improvement will go to stiffer springs. This is all a little frustrating, but fun. After the car is stabilized...
Mark, Thank you for all your help. Please have a great vacation and shut off your computer. For others: My last runs were with tire 35f and 32r hot. I had also raised compression and rebound to 9 (from soft) f&r. But, by this time my r-front was shot so, no clear result could be realized. I'll...
Thanks for all the suggestions Guy's. The spring rates are 500/800, corner weights are with 1/8 tank of fuel and no driver, I don't know about bump steer, tire wear is greatest on the inside of all tires and right-front is shredded on the outside I have the car at TopSpeed Motorsports here in...
Boxer12, I would say I'm a solid intermediate driver. Mark set up the shocks with 500/700 springs on MCS double adjustable shocks. Camber is -2.4 front and about -1.3 rear. The ride height is 4 1/4 front and 5 1/2" rear. Corner weights are 837/832 front and 812/792 rear. The car handles well...
Jack, Thats almost exactly the set-up I have ,except the stripes. I changed oil at 500mi. My car is mainly for Road Course use and I am presently trying to get the MCS shocks set-up right along with the proper alignment. Mark has been very helpful and
I'm lucky to live only 5 miles from the MCS...
Any Gen. V owners have any feeling for a good track/DE set-up? I have a new SRT V with TRACPAC and MCS shocks set up by Mark. I'm interested in hearing what experienced track guys are thinking about spring rates and alinement set-ups. Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Allan
Porsche - with the best track/sports car reputation in the world, sold less than 1000 GT series cars (average over the last six years) in the USA a year. They also happened to have the "right" reputation and dealer network to do so. With this as history ..........
Generally good. But, if you are cruising at a restricted speed say, 45-50 MPH, 2000-2400 RPM, the "drone" is horrible. I have about a 30mi. trip on back roads, with no passing, that forces me into this situation and it is not fun. Ear plugs required. In all other situations it is fine. Allan
If they build 3000 in the next year, there is no way all will be retailed. Discounts will begin to show up in the next 3 months. Dealers who stock beyond firm orders will be stuck. We have seen it before. One of two things need to happen: Economy gets really strong in Viper's Target Market or...
