My Gen III is for sale.

Just listed my heavily modified Gen III on Bring a Trailer. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-dodge-viper-srt-10-roadster-39/

After 3 blown engines... Is the nightmare over?

I blew my stock engine at the track. I put in the Comp Coupe oil pan along with a 3 quart Accusump system. Spent a lot of money building a bullet proof engine. (You can see what I did in my mod list.) Since modding, I have thrashed my car really really hard at the track. No problems.

    Interesting video

    That's a great video.

(New Here)2006 Viper - What should be my first modifications?

Unless you plan on tracking the car, I would not bother with mods. It's a great street car factory stock. Get the skip-shift delete to allow you to shift when you want, and you're pretty much done. If I were driving the car mostly on the street, with the occasional track day, I would start...

    Every Gen Viper tested

Lots of room for improvement for this video. Shifting at 57mph is super cringe. There was no Gen 2 convertible option. (Video says there was.) Gen 3 has ABS.

2008 Gen IV Total speaker Upgrade.

I upgraded my stereo system back in the day. At the time (almost 20 years ago,) it was the latest and greatest. Still sounds good. Can only really tell that it's a nice system when the car isn't running, however. Too much noise othewise. Car Upgrade list HERE

    Just acquired my first viper

The clutch linkage on my car broke last month. Fixed it myself in about 10 minutes (and I'm not particularly handy.) The replacement clip cost $22. Cheapest fix ever on my Viper. If you're not tracking the car, the standard fluids are fine.

    Just acquired my first viper

Woodhouse probably sold more Vipers than any other dealership. Guessing there are still a number of folks there that are very familiar with Vipers. Congrats on the new Viper! (Looks like you picked the fastest color too.)

    Major Oil Leak Help

Looks like you're right. Look at that shiny billet aluminum: https://daileyengineering.com/dodgechrysler/dodge-viper-gen-3-5-wac/ Back when I was busy building my car, I would have been interested in a dry sump, even at $10k, if I could have kept my AC. My modding journey began when my...

    Major Oil Leak Help

I have not seen any Gen 3 dry sump options that allowed you to keep your air conditioning. Are there dry sump solutions now that don't have that issue?

    Major Oil Leak Help

This happened to me. I installed a Comp Coupe oil pan and Accusump to keep it from happening again. If you track your Gen 3, I'd recommend improving the stock oiling system.

Alright... come on now with the ridiculous word censoring!

    How about S.T.R.O.K.E.

9L Extreme stroker vs supercharged vs turboed

This is definitely true. Your answer regarding the right build depends a lot on what you want to do with your Viper.

    Clutch Pedal Linkage Just Broke

Found a replacement part at one of the local Dodge dealers. (First couple of dealers I talked to said I was going to have to buy the whole $1600 pedal assembly to get the part.)

    2004 Clutch Linkage Part

Broke a plastic bushing thingie that connects the clutch pedal to the clutch linkage on my 2004 SRT-10. Anyone know of a source for these?

    Clutch Pedal Linkage Just Broke

Found the rest of the broken piece. It's a plastic bushing that connects the pedal assembly to the clutch linkage. Anyone have any idea where I can get a replacement for this?

    Clutch Pedal Linkage Just Broke

Driving my 2004 SRT-10 home today. Pressed in the clutch, something snapped, and it went all the way to the floor. No more connection between the pedal and the clutch. Just a floppy pedal. Got home, found this broken piece of plastic in the footwell. I'm going to have to remove the seat...

Differences between 2016 and 2017 ACR?

Curious if there were mechanical differences between the 2016 and 2017 ACR Vipers. Specifically, was the 6th gear ratio changed? Any other mechanical changes between 2016 and 2017?

    Fit problems with Sidewinder wheels

I'm trying to fit some sidewinder wheels on my 2004 SRT-10. Rears work fine. On the fronts, the calipers are rubbing in the insides of the wheels. In particular, the two pieces circled in blue. Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas how to solve it?

    Safety Recall on 03 & 04 Snakes

So, if there's no fix yet, I guess there's nothing we can do at this point but worry.

    Safety Recall on 03 & 04 Snakes

Interesting. I don't see any reason why Chrysler would want to put a current black box in our cars.

Would any automobile manufacturer dare compete in this test?

Great idea. This format would definitely favor the Viper, with it's naturally aspirated engine. I've seen a lot of turbo and s/c cars sidelined due to overheating after just a few laps.

For Those Who Have Not Seen a Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft

Another advantage of a carbon fiber drive shaft is safety. If a carbon drive shaft breaks, it disintegrates harmlessly. If a metal drive shaft breaks, it can break other things.
