I had a nice person from SRT call me today to let me know that my car is now built and has been sent to final inspection. She also said she would call me again when she found out any additional information. She gave me an extension to reach her and she will be monitoring the remainder of my...
Mine leaked on the drivers side front about 1/2" down from the top of the pan inside the recessed area for either the number 2 or 3 pan bolt. The hardest part of the fix was to realize that it was the pan. It is at least a 1/4" thick. So I cleaned up all the oil drips and the pan and I found the...
My 1998 leaked through the oil pan itself. Dodge didn't fix it under warranty. After 2 pan gaskets, teflon taping the pan bolts and silicone sealing everything. I had to buy a new pan and the leak stopped. Still have the old one around somewhere.
Congraulations! I am waitng to hear from Mark on the MCS for my car. Let me know how you like it. Your tire height theory sounds good. I think the quicker you can get the car to 4000rpms and keep it there the quicker it will be.
So what's the residual on a 2013 Ford Shelby ? Maybe you can afford one of those. By the way I ordered a base SRT w/stripes. So there will be at least one.
I spoke to my salesperson and May 31,2013 is the last day for me. If my car is not shown on the VOTS site somewhere in actual production. Not just "scheduled". I will cancel my 2013 and get a full refund of my deposit. If SRT in that time decides to make mine a 2014 I have no problem waiting...
The new car has shallower side bolsters. This allows a little more spillover for bigger folks. The door panels are also deeper but you have to get below the window sill to get any benefit. The pedals are also moved closer to center. So much so that if you center your foot on the gas pedal you...
I don't think there is a compromise of reliability with either car. There is a difference of three years of aging between your car and the newest Gen II however. Also an eleven year spread from then till now. Lots of rubber and plastic parts losing their polymers. Leading to cracking, leaks and...
From a comfort standpoint a Gen II is a move backwards. I would supercharge your car or move to a Gen IV. If you are in a place where you can ride with the top down in comfort then I would get a Gen IV convertible.
Had them on my ZR1. Definitely could tell they didn't stop the car as well unless they were really warmed up. There weren't noisy at all. Certainly not needed on the street. I would buy them if they were offered though. It is worth it to me to keep my wheels and all of my suspension clean. They...
PeerBlock, Correct on all points. Except that I meant I wanted 750hp across the board. Not as an option. I would have loved 750hp with a warranty.
Of all of the performance numbers I am disappointed with the 60-150mph times. To me it means not only are you going to lose from a stop. You are...
I don't know you personally,Steve-Indy. You have to be the most helpful, non-vendor, Viper Club member of the last 10 years. Thanks for taking the time.
I guess I am a diehard to a fault. So say the old Viper friends who now drive GTR's,Turbo Porsche's,Mc Claren's and Ford GT's. I hope my 2013 won't be my last.
It's not one day. These most recent passes were made on Drag Radials on a very well prepped track. Brooks can drive the car well enough to get into the tens if it could have done it.
The times they are actually about what I expected.
Go get a drink and re read my post. I have no problem with all the new goodies on the GEN V. I am saying that if there are people who can afford a new Viper that can tack on an additional 40K worth of options. There are probably a large number of people who would also pay to keep the Viper the...
My comparison was more in line with the fact that buyers of a 110K car would spend 14K for a special paint or even 140K for a launch edition. Then maybe they should have explored the likelihood that hardcore Viper lovers would have paid 10,15 or 20K for a 750hp car.
While the cost of the paint...
I remember a time when it was possible and I don't know why it is no longer important. I don't care for AWD. Is 640hp more politically correct or safer than 750hp? The platform certainly could have supported it. People will pay for a 14K paint job but you don't think we would pay a 10K gas...
