Polishing raised Aluminum Letters on valve covers?

Am I wrong or are the valve covers made of magnesium? I think I remember that the magnesium won’t stay bright for long.

    1994 RT10

I have the Kouhmo sticky tires. They don't last long and they aren't much good in the rain but they really grip the road. I think they might cost about half what the Pilots cost.

New member - my car was almost stolen, need bit of advice..

I like that post thing. That's a great idea. The crooks will see it and not bother messing with the car. I don't think anyone would steal a Viper where I live. But I'd get one of those post things if I needed to worry about that.

How hard is it to disable the Odometer?

As someone said, The carfax report on the car is going to have some data points where miles are reported. If that doesn't look right, someone may have messed with or replaced parts.

Gen 1 Powdercoated and Extrude honed intake

Wow, I didn't know it was the same one. How about that! 10k on it should do the trick.

Could it have been the movers who moved you into the new house?

Gen 1 Powdercoated and Extrude honed intake

Hey, Remember the thread about the guy who had the extrude hone job and found that there was hone crud in the intake after he put it on the car? Just a little tip, make sure it is clean inside before bolting everything up.

Top of seat back is faded and chipped....paint question?

I have the same problem. There are products that work as a primer for painting plastic. One that I know about is "ADHERETO AP-02" I think it's made by House of Color. I'm not a serious painter so someone else may know of a better product.

A few pics of my car. Before/After

I like that top, it makes all the difference doesn't it. I bought Jeff's one piece top version with no scoop and I really like the way it looks.

    Snake Stories!

The wife and I were taking a little Viper ride when we came to a local car show that we didn't know was going to be there. We decided to park in the lot and go look at the show. The parking lot guy stopped us, talked on his radio for a second and then inisted we go park in the show. So we did...

In bolt-on car, how much distance would I need to make a top speed run?

"with a BIG tailwind you might even get close to 195 mph." Wouldn't a tailwind add whatever the wind speed was to your car speed? I say that because the aero drag is about the only thing you are fighting to get top speed. So a 10 mph wind from direcly behind should give you 10 mph higher top...

    Things to say to admirers?

"As we were leaving to go cruising he walked up to the car and said "hey man, if you see me staring at you, I'm really not gay, I'm just staring at the car"." One of two things going on here. He was looking for the tip for giving your car special treatment. Or, He was gay and he thought that...

Just bought first viper how did i do?

On a long trip like that you just might get rained on. Be very careful about hydroplaning at highway speed on a really wet road. Big tires do that. You really have to watch it when the rain is coming down hard. There have been more than a few reports of this. Your 94 has no electronics...

    Front license plate.

"put the plate on .why give them an excuse to write you a couple of tickets" Exactly. I don't want to give them a reason to stop me. I believe that the red light cameras are the reason for more strict enforcement than there might have been years ago. Before the cameras, not having a front...

    Double Clutching?

If you heel and toe when downshifting into a turn, you avoid breaking traction when you are at the limits. I guess that's not really double clutching but you do want to match the engine speed with the gear you are going into.

    Viper as advertising space

Go to any beach town in the summer and there are small planes towing banners, ads for events, bars, beer. If one were able to rig some kind of quick change ads that looked good, some money could be made driving up and down the main drag. I would think a deal could be made with a beer...

    Looking for 94-95 RT10

Sounds like your friend is looking for something like mine. I should probably sell my 94 and get a GTS. But I just bought that new hardtop from Jeff. I guess I'll stick with what I have.

Is a black viper a violation of the Golden Rule????

I have a white 96 Vette. It's my daily driver and I really don't wash it very often. Even dirty, it looks nice. My black Viper stays covered in the garage when I'm not actually driving it. Any little dirt or dust stands out and really looks like crap. I try to keep the Viper looking nice. If...

    Water wetter question

Perhaps water wetter has an anti corrosion additive in it. There was a guy on here a couple of years ago, who put straight distilled water in his engine and it did corrode badly.

I believe the Viper will be a collector car sooner or later. But the longer they keep making them the longer it will take to get there.

    Washington Post piece on Viper

Today's Sunday Washington Post had a little article about the Viper. In the automotive section of the paper. Seemed to be an honest look at the Viper. You can see it on their site.

    Clear Bra's noticable???

Re: Clear Bra\'s noticable??? A clear bra? Would you only use it when no one is looking? If it can be detected, I wouldn't use it. If the looks of the car are so important that you cant stand a couple of chips, how can you drive around with a silly looking clear bra? Sort of like having...

    Dealer mark up in 1993

Don't you think that $199k markup was just a way of saying "Not For Sale"? The dealer wanted it in the showroom to bring in a crowd. He had no desire to sell the car. He wasn't trying to screw anyone.
