This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but the last time I wanted to jack up both rears at the same time, I simply used two floor jacks on the two rear jack points. As a precaution, I then put jackstands under the rear in whatever places looks like they might support the car if one...
Re: Carolinas Region Events - October / November - Don\'t Miss These!
Tell us more about the Karting. I've always wanted to do that, but VIR seems to only rent out the kart track at group rates (e.g., $600/hr -- one to ten karts). Will you be using VIR's karts and kart track? How much actual...
Here is what I did with Rhino Ramps, and for A LOT less money. And I can remove the extensions once the car is on the ramp and access the undercarriage from the side. Looks like I’m a little off-center.
Here is the thread where I got the idea (thanks to KenH), which contains another picture...
You'll learn over time how to control the low-speed lunging. It takes a delicate touch and minute adjustments. And you can always just push in the clutch to stop it before it gets too obvious and makes you look like an idiot. ;)
If you install the 3.55 gears, you'll never have skip shift...
Some auto insurance policies explicitly exclude coverage on a track, without regard for the activity, educational or not.
I use Pacific for track insurance. See the following thread for some details and contact information...
I searched and searched but I couldn't find the information I'm sure that I've seen on the site before, namely the recommended tire pressure for the Pilot Sport Cups for track use. Can anyone chime in here and let me know what psi you're running (cold or hot) in the Cups at the track? Kai...
Who knows at what speed the SRT Viper starts to get squirrelly. Yesterday I took her up to 150 mph at the track for the first time and felt just a little lift. There was some occasional light wind from time to time yesterday and maybe I caught a headwind or side wind. I had done the same...
Re: Daughter\'s Birthday Present
Cool! Happy birthday to her!
Of course, now that she "knows" how to drive your Viper, you'd better hide those keys from the next few years. ;)
Well okay, maybe my engine is all of a sudden running richer. :smirk: Would my computer change the fuel/air mixture significatly all on its own without modifications to the car? It's been over a year since I've had any modifications done affecting airflow, and the side sill temperature has...
My side sills have always run hot until very recently. When the exhaust was stock, you could of course actually burn your bare leg getting out. After replacing the headers (Heffner), cats (RT-steel) and cat-backs (Corsa, no cross-over), the side sill temperature went WAY down, however, the...
For what it's worth, the MSRP on new is $13,180 total. MSRP on each wheel alone is a whopping $2875. Front rubber are $358 each, and rears are $482 each. Damn. You know, you might want to check with JonB for a used wholesale price if you're looking to move them quickly.
