I believe that the work was done by RSI in Houston. And I also recall reading that the owner sold it without driving it even once. He wanted 125K for it.
Ricky,
Here's a constructive way to look at it. The Viper is an awesome machine, but it requires a good bit of driving skill/ability IOT extract the performance it offers. Any moron can get in a less powerful car, stab the throttle, and keep it pointed in a straight line. Once you have...
LMAO
Same here. Thought she had one of them thar pseudonems.
Congrats on your new Viper! Hope you've seen one of the numerous threads from an owner who has wrapped his/her SRT around a telephone pole. Take 'er easy at first.
Congrats on your new Mamba! I just moved from BA to Edmond a couple of months ago. Send me a PM if you want some info on the best Viper techs in the Tulsa area, etc.
Ignore VD... he must have had a bad experience with a header as a child. As soon as I saw this post, I knew he'd be in here bashing on 'em.
My car also has a Paxton blower (like his) but I put down 710-720 at the rear (and my timing is REALLY cut back, IOT keep the engine safe with the cast...
Sorry to hear about your bad luck, Tom. When you find out what it is, please post it. I doubt that the dealer would spring for 3.55's on a warranty repair. But if it is a user friendly service dept. they may do the free warranty labor with a set of Unitrax 3.55s if you bring a set in.
Crockett,
Way to represent for the blown silver Vipers tuned by Velocity! BTW, I'm picking my car up tomorrow in the mid/late afternoon. It Put down 700+, but not as much as yours. If you get a chance come by the shop tomorrow, okay?

With all of this blower/gearing discussion I think that there are two important points to keep in mind:
#1 Moving to 3.55s (or any gear in that range) will allow you centrifigal blower to come on to boost quicker than a stock 3.07 geared car. Sure the car will be harder to handle down low...
Like the combination in my car. Power is a bit excessive from a standing launch. On the highway (at cruising speed) it is very responsive and reasonable and they (blower and 3.55's) make a great combination. Have not tracked the car since doing the blower, but will some time this summer.
Chris - you're new Avatar is tight!
Alice - I paid $6400 (plus got the $100 rebate), my install was $500, the tuning, plus larger injectors, etc. was around $1000. If you have a bone stock car, you could probably get by without the tuning. Your ROI on the Paxton will come the first time you...
