Not to mention they are having trouble raising debt financing that was to be in place around now. Spreads have widened out huge and it looks like it could be a while before the money is in the door - and the rate won't be good.
IF, and that's a big IF, Chrysler was to phase out the Viper as suggested, and if the Viper is profitable as suggested, then why not a small private equity transaction to take Viper and the plant off of Chryslers hand. Sign a distribution agreement (Sprinter must have something like this) and...
You may want to hold off. The manufacturers are going to have to deal with this issue. Car sales are declining in Canada and thousands of people are crossing the border every month buying cars from the US. Last month it was estimated to be over 10,000 cars. Border dealers are getting pissed...
This has been a beef of mine for some time as you probably know by some of my other posts. I have imported a number of vehicles from the US as the price difference is way out of line. On Vipers, it was only last year that the MSRP was $130,000 Cdn when it was about $85,000 US. The gap has...
No problem to bring over. Daytime lights are now done by key fob. No need to change speedo's. Pay GST when you bring car over border and PST when you license it (GST & PST are the same as if you bought in Canada). No customs duties.

Hey, thanks for snagging a pic of me. Photo 285 - I'm in my 00 Woodward Edition Prowler - car on the left - only seemed appropriate for event.
Highlight of the event was when the police blocked all traffic and Woodward & 13 mile so that our group of Prowlers (175 of them) could cruise out...
I think there is no question this guy is a great manager. The media ripped him for his compensation. Even though the share price did nothing during his tenure at HD, the main reason for that was a drop in the multiple that it traded at, reflecting the lower growth opportunities in a saturated...

Wrong. The pricing has everything to do with manufacturer pricing. Sooner of later (probably later), the manufacturers will be forced to lower prices in Canada. Might take an economic slowdown however. Example, the list price of a Viper in Canada was dropped last year from $130,000 Cdn down...
We need car manufacturers to jump on the bandwagon and price Canadian cars in line with US prices. Canadians are being gouged by the automakers.
Example:
Bentley GTC in US $190,000 USD
Same car in Canada $265,000 CDN which is $252,000 USD
$62,000 extra in Canada for nothing. Outrageous
This has been going on for years and will continue to. There are far too many dealers in North America. There could easily be half the number.
I think the preferred route is to have dealers buy up others dealers creating dealer groups and the dealer groups themselves closing locations...
