    Battery

The worst thing for a lead battery is to leave sit at a low state of charge for a period of time. Sulfate will begin to crystallize, reducing the area for the electro-chemical reaction, permanently reducing its ability to hold a charge. If you take a brand new battery, drain it and let is sit...

12 psi boost with OEM internals?

Viper X has it correct. Very long learning curve and plenty of $$$$$. Once you get it right, there is not an issue. Note that all those that have chimed in with over 800HP have upgraded internals. None of the tuners out there will do high boost without upgrading the internals at least not the...

12 psi boost with OEM internals?

I run 15psi on my Paxton and there are a ton of issues. All of the above mentioned and then a bunch more. There seems to be a threshold of 750HP that once you pass, your dependability goes way down. I have all upgraded internals and still blew my engine twice. The tune is sooooooo critical and...

    What Some Will People Do

I did deflate 2 of his tires! I tried to wait as long as is could, but I had to run so the only thing I could think of was to take his air. Life is too short to work yourself up into a frenzy over other people’s short comings, so I moved on.

    What Some Will People Do

Here is s new one for me. I am parked in the lot, just been in to the book store when I came out and saw an old Camry parked no more than 3” from my drivers door. It’s fairly late and only a handful of cars in the very big lot, obviously an intentional stunt. SOB! I can’t get in! I have to open...

    Question for expert tuners

I have pretty much stopped really worrying about it, but everyone loves a good mystery. I am beginning to conclude that it is related to the stuff in my glove box. He is why. This same observation was made with different O2 sensors, different injectors, different sparkplugs, different valves...

    Question for expert tuners

Anyone seeing a difference in A/F between the left/right bank while the car is cold. I’m seeing a 2 point leaner condition in left bank until the care gets to about 185 or so, after that they even out. I changed all the injectors and no change so that rules them out. All plugs firing, so that...

    Ignition Timing maps to share

That would be great! Do you have the traction control set up on your TT? I haven't played around with that much yet but i would like to.

    Ignition Timing maps to share

yep AEM, but timing advance is timing advance so it doesn't really matter. Any map will do. Just want to see what others are advancing at different loads and RPM

    Timing maps to share

Been fine tuning and wanted to compare timing maps. Does anyone have a map that they would like to share? It's for my 04 SRT with high boost.

    Here we go AGAIN!!

You may already be aware of this but there also the square fuses in the fuse box. They look like little relays with a clear top window and they are pink blue etc. If you look into the window sometimes you can see if one is blown. You can pull one and swap it with another and try to start it...

Paxton belt slipping, what's the fix?

Re: Paxton belt slipping, what\'s the fix? The belts does tend to slip a little bit at high RPM’s, I can monitor it on my AEM. It slips even more when you change the pulley sizes to up the boost. DLM makes a belt tensioner that works pretty well. I was first concerned about putting too much...

Interesting chat with Corsa tech line

You definitely get over 100 deg temp drop in your side sill if you remove the cats. The heat comes from the cats under the sill and with them gone there is nothing to hold the heat. Your exhaust temp is 600+ deg, so yes with the cats gone you very easily get a big drop. The RT cats still hold...

    Performance Transmission Crossmember and Mount

That is really interesting. I have seen that out of round condition on two different engine rebuilds and I was not using the poly engine mounts. So what does that mean, I don’t know what conclusion to draw from that. I drove my car extremely hard at the track so stress/strain is a common...

    Performance Transmission Crossmember and Mount

Confused 2!! Warp the block, ouch. Doug, are you saying that using the poly transition mount and poly motor mount will warp the block? You said change one, which one tranny or motor. I have both, I did not notice that much with only the tranny mounts but a huge difference with the motor...

PNP AEM Harness' - where are they?

Re: PNP AEM Harness\' - where are they? Check engine light solution 1. remove the gauge cluster, not that hard at all, then pull the check engine light bulb = no more engine light 1.1 even cooler, then run a wire from the AEM LS#10 (AEM’s check engine light output) to the light bulb and...

    Cat Question......

You are in my neighborhood, same club anyway. The first cat is just in front of the pedals on the engine side of the firewall, the second cat is under the door sill. With Corsa the second set of cats should already be gone. The side cats are the ones that produce the in cabin heat. The down...

    Exhaust Removal Question

Sound is a very personal thing. RT cats on the side make for a hot door. RT cats up front are much better, but you have to retain the stock headers. RT cats and Corsa sounds nice, loud enough for me and just quite enough for my wife to tolerate on a date. The secret for the wife is not to...

    Exhaust Removal Question

I just got through putting the x-overs back on. I have headers and no cats and the x-over do not add any heat at all. 90% of the heat in the interior comes from the 2nd cat that is/was under the door seal. To me the sound is much better with the x-over, it is more balanced. Taking all the...

Paxton Upgrade Advice for the Intercooler

I connected 2 heat exchangers together and they fit perfectly in front of the radiator. I also got a rectangle reservoir from Vortech which holds about 4X the coolant the little triangle thing holds. Made a huge difference.
