    smashed hardtop to repair

If they do fasten differently, then I'll definately need some gen II hardware. I didn't say so before, but this isn't going to go on my yellow car. I got burned on Ebay, they said it was a gen I top, but I didn't realize it for 4 months! Now I'm just trying to get something together to...

    smashed hardtop to repair

I could make the latches off my broken gen I softtop work with a little fabrication, but I don't know if the gen II latches will just bolt in or not. I'd rather not modify a perfectly good gen II hardtop. I've got a cruise this weekend, so I'll compare hardware to some other genII cars...

    smashed hardtop to repair

I've got a factory Mopar replacement fiberglass top for a gen II car, BARE NAKED. Outside is primer, inside is semigloss black. This top needs weatherstipping and latches, and maybe a headliner if you're picky. If you have a smashed top, I am willing to buy the hardware off of you to make...

600 Hp plus is coming from Dodge soon

Re: 600 Hp plus is coming from Dodge soon I agree with Viperfreak. The first step is putting an aluminum frame under the car. That would require no other certification, except maybe crash testing. How much more could an aluminum frame cost over a steel frame? $500? $1000? They are all...

Can Someone tell me where/how did dodge get 50 hp more out of gen II?

Better tires for '96? The original '95 tires (XGTs) had a treadwear rating of 100! That is almost a race tire. But it was too rough for comfortable street use. The succeeding tire (MXX3) was rated at 180, and the pilot sport at 200. As far as differences, the heads and cam made the big...

    75 shot....Dynoed

I'd have dodge double check your PCM. We had a stock 2001 or 2002 Viper dynoing under 400rwhp and the PCM was the culprit. It wasn't learning like it was supposed to.

Any red Gen.I cars for sale near Texas?

Does your friend already have that "lambo" sold.

    Make my Cam more lumpy

Don't forget the aluminum flywheel. Less mass will make the idle more eratic.

Where Can I get some Coil Overs (New or Used) ?

I think you are looking for some height-adjustable coilovers. Our cars all (mostly) come with Koni coilovers from the factory. You can convert your existing shocks to adjustable. Do some searches for ACR-izing a gen I. Talk to Tom.

    bad caliper?

thnks Tom for the reply. You are the brake Guru here. I've been itching to try your ACR-conversion for a while, but haven't had time (you know how that goes). Your rear brakes are also on my list. Maybe this winter. I've been doing some reading, and have now realized that I can't swap...

    bad caliper?

Just finished a session at TWS with new BM3s and rotors on front, and older (last spring) BM3s and rotors on rear. As always, my front right tire seems to be locking up prematurely. I also have 285s up front, and the seal is removed from prop valve. My friend put his g-tech meter in my car...

New 19" Forgelines - Who wants them? I can't use them...

Re: New 19 How does these wheels fit your GTS? Your car looks lowered, and I know these same wheels/tires rubbed horribly in back on my lowered GTS. So...I put them on my stock-height RT-10, and the rears stick out. Any problem with yours? thanks

    TX Front Plate Law

I heard that the legislature never got around to passing the law, and they don't hold special sessions for license plates! But it won't effect me at all. Never surrender!

URG: Need +50rwhp in my SRT..

If you just did the heads (greg goode) you could probably get 50 hp, and the idle wouldn't change very much. It would be hard to prove without pulling the engine for inspection. Wouldn't your friend be upset when your "stock" viper pulls him. I think the 3.55s are a good start. If the heads...

when disconecting brake lines to master brake cylinder must you

not if you you don't pump it dry. Just be careful and when you reconnect it bleed the whole system well. You will have a long way to get the air out.

Redline ATF in 96' RT/10 OK or NOT OK - That is the question

Re: Redline ATF in 96\' RT/10 OK or NOT OK - That is the question Let me know, too. I just bought some to put in my '97. I hope I didn't just waste $40.

    Gen 1 fuel leak???

I was able to pull out my filler tube and "cleanit up" and reinstall it without drilling out any grommets or removing fuel tank. I am not sure if removal of fuel tank is nec. to replace grommet,as I kept mine. Fuel smell is still there, but it doesn't leak much anymore.

    Exhaust/Header Recommendation for Gen I

Lets get more scientific here. The gen 1 is cammed for max torque than the gen IIs. I put belangers on my car (a tri-y header) designed for mid-range torque. Was I nuts or what? If I were to do it again, I'd choose a 5-into-1 design with larger tubes to maximize power 4000-6000rpm. The TNT...

    My 1/4 mile timeslip

So you'd be turning 126 mph at redline....That would put you in the 3.55 range. Measure again at 3000rpms to be sure. 3.55s are great gears for cars with over 500 hp but less than 600. Stock Vipers do well staying with 3.07s and keeping it in 3rd through the lights (117mph rev limiter). On...

    Used HREs?

I am getting tired of crappy 60' times when I go to the track, so I'm looking for some used 546 HREs to mount my 345-18 drag radials. The best deal would be to upgrade to some 19X13s so I could use my 18s for my drag radials, but I would probably have to spend at least $1000 each for new ones...

    Exhaust Size

3" won't give any power benefit, but will increase sound. I put 3" initially on my '95 with factory headers, and the sound was bad, got minimum hp. I later went with bellangers. The sound was still too loud, but I had the power to back it up so I figured it was worth it. I recommend 2 1/2"...

    Vipers and Tax Write-offs?

I have a separate company called DK Racing that is in the business of advertising. They charge my office reasonable advertising charges of $2000/yr, and DK Racing uses it to go racing, buy tires and parts, and generally promote the business. $2000 is about less than 10% of my total advertising...

    New 14'' SRT-10 Breaks (pics)

Re: New 14\'\' SRT-10 Breaks (pics) Schulman, try going with the rear calipers off an ABS car. They have 43mm pistons instead of the 40s you put on. That may help balance your system. then you can sell me your 40s.
