Porsche develops 7 speed gear box
Porsche has a narrow power band so they need 7 speeds to keep within it. A just purchased a viper and I am not sure how the ratios are placed. In my 02 zo6 5 gears were quality spaced and the 6 speed was overdirve. In my other vetts the first 4 speeds were equal and the other 2 spped were...- k4site

Porsche develops 7 speed gear box
I think porsche uses them in their cup cars and I know corvette uses them C6R's maybe only 6 speed. The lexus is a 7 speed automatic, nothing approaching a race transmission.- k4site

How did I do
Just purchased a 2005 viper black/black, 20 miles, new car for $67,762. Was looking for a Z06 but GM just raised the prices $ 4000 and with additional dealer markup I could buy a viper cheaper. I really wanted a roadster any way. I have always wanted to try one out and I have owned lots of vetts.- k4site

Porsche develops 7 speed gear box
It is a 7 speed sequential transmission. Like a motorcycle up and down but no gate. I believe the race vipers and corvettes use them- k4site

Where can u get spray cans of touch-up paint?
Your car is base coat clear coat, two to three step process. Spraying on a single coat will not work properly. Take it to a person that knows how to repair it.- k4site

SRT owners in Phoenix?

How to tell if clutch is slipping?
Put it in fourth about 3000 rpm and hit the brakes lightly while you hit the gas and watch the rev counter. If the revs goes up without increasing speed you have a badly worn disk.- k4site
