It was a HOT day, probably too hot for many folks to bring their cars out. I opted to leave the '77 Bandit at home and brought the '97 Viper instead. Although a lonely Viper, it did win the award for best car post-1975. I now have a nice plaque hanging on my wall, next to my 6' fathead photo...
Late notice but I wanted to let folks know about a car show in Zionsville on Saturday July 7th. The show is put on by Jim Cunningham who is primarily a classic mustang guy, recognized for his work on old mustangs, most notably a 1970 Boss 429 (at one point the "highest rated" thoroughbred 1970...
I would be interested to hear what you find out. My '97 popped and the local Dodge dealer did not want to try and fix it for liability reasons. They did say Dodge used a special adhesive back in the day and you could not get it any longer. I tried a few glass shops but nobody wants to touch...
Re: Don\'t Hold Your Breath! They\'re NOT Coming Out Any Time Soon?
The issue for many is not when the car starts shipping. For those of us that are not in line for one of the first cars and don't live in Florida or California, the question is will we see the car in time to drive it in 2003...
Having just been to the US Grand Prix in Indy and watching the Porsche and Ferrari challenge races, it would be great to see 15-20 Vipers on the F1 track at once, and all diving into the first turn. The Ferrari guys were great, no regard for the fact that they were driving their personal...
Sorry, but this has to be the stupid question of the week.
For those that listen to Bob & Tom out of Indianapolis, this would make it on their Mr. Obvious routine...
Somebody commented in another thread that GTS/RT10 pricing will remain steady if not fall a little when the SRT is released as many owners will "trade-in" their existing Viper.
Once this process stabilizes, the prices for the GTS/RT10 will likely increase (at least not depreciate as much) as...
Anyone LIKE the \'03?
I read many posts from people who have been to the LA Auto show and do not like the new SRT or the way Dodge treated them. How about anyone who went to the show and acutally LIKED what they saw?
Certificates are to be mailed out tomorrow and we all have to make a...
I have the same problem as Ron. The web site won't take my VIN (called the dealer I purchased if from to to confirm it is correct) and the phone line disconnects repeatedly. I must have made 50 calls already.
Oh well. I am guessing the phone system they are using must be a Siemens and came...
Let the kid buy the Viper. After reading his posts I am sure that Darwin will take care of the rest.
BTW, this thread and the BMW thread in off-topic have to be the most insulting posts I have read on this site. There is no law against being fortunate enough to own whatever toys one wants...
1. Who cares if the Viper was tested?
2. If you do care, don't buy a Viper.
I enjoy my car and I acknowledge that I take risks every time I drive it. If it really mattered I would probably buy another car. Anyone asking about the safety rating of the Viper probably shouldn't own one.

Posted this before and a few years old, but this is my best (of a few):
I was on my way from Indy to the Kruse auto auction in Auburn, IN where the Vipers (and other Chrysler products) led the classics in the parade and carried the celebrities. As usual I am running a few minutes late to get...
You can disable the X band on the valentine if you want. You can also put it in logic mode and let the software in the Valentine determine false alarms.
A true comparison of the devices would be to have the device "optimized" using the user settings for the conditions of the test. I would...
You will find the most uncomfortable part of the Viper is the lack of a dead pedal. I am 6'4"+ and can deal with everything but where to put my feet. You have to stick your foot behind the clutch if you want to stretch your legs.
A VERY SMALL price to pay to own and drive the best.
I just bought Viper Racing for my son at Office Depot. It was in the clearance section for < $10. They had a few left, too bad you're not in Indianapolis.
Great game. You need a controller though (the kids like the joystick).
