English reviews of the Viper...

I've read english auto publications here and there, and I notice that the writers love to bash America. They love to view themselves as sophisticated, proper, and civilized, while we Americans are just redneck slobs, who don't know how to build cars. I think it's jealousy on their part. When...

    2001-01 Engine Noise Revisited..any ideas?

Don't forget, there is a perceived noise and sound pressure level, which differs given the individual, and the setting. Depending on the person, their mood, and the conditions or settings, the perceived noise or sound level will be different in each case. At the same time, I doubt if all...

Beware! Drivers door hinge spring broke and chipped door

As mentioned...... this part must be lubricated. Mine broke off too. The purpose of this flat spring is to hold the door open. It is not necessary if you don't want to replace it..... just cut it off. Without it, the door will swing back on you after being opened. However, I was told that...

    Viper Reliability?

I have a 97 GTS also. Intake manifold gasket replacement..... and 02 sensors as well. But other than that....... fine... two round trips from S. FL. to VA. through the mountains.. and back. No problems. 31,500 accumulated miles so far. Drive fairly hard. Great car. I love it.

    High flow cats....

quote:
Originally posted by Sean Roe: Minor clarification: Normally aspirated gasoline engines need the proper exhaust "velocity" (not backpressure) so that the next cylinder benefits from the scavenge effect. This helps pull more...

Nail in rear tire, plug repaired, good to go?

Plugging is fine. When the tire wears down, there is a chance that the plug point may leak. However, the tire hole, given the nature of rubber and steel belting, will not result in a catastropic failure the way a rigid structure would if it was subjected to the same forces. Unless you are...

slight high speed tire woble....approx. 90 mph

I guess it should be mentioned that the wheel could be out-of-round. While on the balancing machine, visually inspect wheel runnout. If it looks excessive, measure it and see if it is within specs. There is a TSB out on wheels with excessive runnout. I will investigate the possibility of...

What does a 13 year old think of 2003 viper

Unfortunitely, Dodge seems to be committed to the design. Almost everyone agrees; something was lost. Wonder why Dodge didn't do a better job of surveying the opinions of existing owners, before committing to the design. I'm putting fewer-and-fewer miles on my GTS these days.

Do Viper Wives Really Have a Clue?

Yep, mine doesn't have a clue either....there is no place for her purse But one time I dropped her off and waited.... when she came out, I gave her the key and told her to put her package in the back of the GTS. As I looked in the rearview mirror, she put the key in and started pulling up on...
