    Side pipe exhaust and headers???

Ouch!!! All I had to do was remove the upper plastic thingy for the AC intake.

    Side pipe exhaust and headers???

Curious to know why you thought they are difficult on a Gen 1? Mine went on without any problems. Gottaviper - I don't think you would have any problems matching headers vs cat-back. Just make sure you get a cat that has the appropriate inlet and outlet sizes. Not sure about the size of the...

Part 1 Who lets their wife/Gf drive their Viper?

My wife likes to drive the Viper. She's 5'4 so it can be tough for her to fully work the clutch. When she found out the Gen2 (and SRT) models have adjustable pedals, I was informed I would be buying her one

    Beware of U-Coat-It....

Sorry to hear about your problems. I too looked at U-Coat-It. However, I ended up with the Rust-Oleum Garage Floor Coating. It's only been down for 8 months, but it looks like I did it yesterday. Best thing was the cost: $150 to do my entire 700sqft garage.

Another thanks to JonB and PartsRack

Called Jon on Tuesday afternoon to order 4 new Pilot Sports. To my surprise, the tires were at my house on Wednesday afternoon! Now that's service :2tu:

They took the heads off today?

DC is indeed allowing dealerships to remove heads when the vehicle is still under warranty. I had the dreaded head/coolant leakage that most Gen 1s experience. Roanoke did the work, and they were instructed to remove the heads and check the cylinder liner tolerances before shipping the engine...

    Dont laugh

I had the Merlin muffler shop fix mine. Corner of Eola and New York. I still had the exhaust chunks so they were able to just weld it back on. Are these the front hangers right behind the front wheels? If so, I had the EXACT same problem. Drove through Michigan, crappy roads jarred my teeth...

    heat shields on headers ?

Check with Tom Welch, JonB, or whoever you're buying them from. I was informed that putting the heat shields back on top of my Belangers was not recommended and may void the warranty.

Roe Racing High Flow Cats - Feedback??

Are you considering the replacement of just the cats? If you're going through the trouble, you should go ahead and replace the mufflers too. I put Sean's oval high-flow cats on along with Belanger headers and cat-back, and I love it. Side sills are cool now instead of leg-blistering hot.

After 3 years, I'm still in love!

Re: After 3 years, I\'m still in love! Oh yeah, I almost fortot something else. I was able to fit all 7 tuxedos and shoes into the trunk, along with the party favors and other stuff for the wedding! After fitting 5 days worth of clothing for 2 people for VOI into this car, I had become a...

After 3 years, I'm still in love!

After 3 years, I\'m still in love! Just thought I would share my experience with my Gen 1 beast. After 17,000 miles of abuse (28,000 now on the odometer), I still love this car. First day I bought the car, I drove it 500 miles home through the rain. Over the next 3 months, I piled on 5000...

    free play in clutch pedal

Same thing here. I had the clutch and cylinders replaced 1 year ago. I noticed the play and had Roanoke look at it. They bled it and said everything was ok. Play is still there - about 1 inch at the very top. However, after the car warms up, the play is gone. I gave up worrying about it.

    Engine Stumble at 4,000 rpms

Not sure how big your "stumble" was, but I think that's normal. Sean Roe posted lots of dyno graphs over the course of his supercharger development and I remember something like this coming up. Try searching and see what you dig up.

    Viper service in Chicago

Ditto Roanoke. The 60-minute drive is NOTHING compared to the headaches you'll get if you allow Joe Schmoe's 5-Star Dealership to work on the car.

How does tube connect to facia overflow bottle?

If I remember correctly, the hose just gets pushed on at the bottom of the overflow tank.

    My letter to Dodge

Holy crap! After all the dealings you had with them, they treat you like that? Glad to hear Roanoke put your baby back together. MichaelP - This is in Naperville, IL.

    1994 windows

Yup, they lock. In fact, they lock good enough that I had to break one of the window panels when I locked my keys in the car... DOH! I like "stuff"

    1994 windows

I've got the VMania top and Northwind windows, and we love them. You can leave the windows in without the top. We decided to go with Northwind because we wanted large window openings.

    488 V-10 or 426HEMI

Also, I believe "public opinion" pushed them towards keeping the V10 from the show car. Potential buyers thought it gave a coolness factor over having a V8.

Viper Racing on Speed channel Right Now

Didn't SCCA handicap the Vipers because Bobby b*tch slapped the Vettes in previous years and GM complained?

    Drag strip improvements

Any chance of you going to a 1/4 strip instead of 1/8? Vipers are sooo difficult to launch right, so the 1/8 track ain't really doing you justice. You're done racing before you wind it out in 3rd and 4th. Otherwise, do what MaxWedge suggests: get some ET streets and practice launching.
