I also do not agree that AEM has added the "Viper Tax." Many are not realizing the changes AEM had to make when developing the Viper AEM box. Up until now, the AEM has always resided inside the passenger compartment (imports). On the Viper application, AEM redesigned the enclosure...
Re: Jason Heffner sets a New 6 Speed
Thanks Aaron! Answers to your question, EVC V, VP Unleaded MS109, when you are ready to purchase the TT package because once you get a ride, you'll be signing up on the waiting list! :D Make your way down to Heffners, and I'm sure we can arrange a...
Re: Jason Heffner sets a New 6 Speed
We've never tried drag radials on the car, but if I had to guess, it will most likely be 12psi (785rwhp/890rwtq). 12 psi on radials is tough, but a gradual roll in on the throttle and 12psi with radials can hold if the temps are 60F+. Colder pavement...
Re: Jason Heffner sets a New 6 Speed
Thanks everyone! We had a blast in Florida! Saturday was the radial tire shootout(no drag radials) and I hopped off the plane and into my rental car, straight to the track. Excited as can be, I went an 11.11@13xmph @10psi. Turned it up to 12psi and...
I just received my Gold version from Harbor Freight. They were on sale for $99/each. So I bought two. :)
They are nice jacks with much better clearance than my 3.5 ton old school jacks, but they require noticeably more effort when jacking.
Congrats David! It was definitely one awesome run. :2tu: It was great to finally meet the infamous Dr. Roof! ;) :D
Wait till I learn how to drive my car! j/k :D
First off, I want to thank Gary for transporting my car with such care. It is not often you see someone take care of your car as much as, if not more, than their own car! I know I wouldn't have the patience to make it through the horrible conditions Gary drove through. Thank you very much Gary...
Re: Heffner\'s Prototype Twin Turbo Viper GTS
KepRght: Pricing is something that you will need to call Jason at (410) 766 2800.
Gerald: If I am not mistaken, $16k is the base kit and then options go up from there. The 1000hp kit is more than $16k.
Re: Heffner\'s Prototype Twin Turbo Viper GTS
Brian,
The little headaches were more in obtaining the prototype turbo units. After that Jason went through a small trial and error period to make sure the packaging was optimized. Which was the most important aspect on developing this kit...
Re: Heffner\'s Prototype Twin Turbo Viper GTS
It all started back in 1995 when all the "custom programmers" could not figure how to run 42lb injectors in an s/c'd 93 Vette. I figured I didn't need to pay someone to screw up the programming, I can do equally well and not have to pay for it...
Re: Heffner\'s Prototype Twin Turbo Viper GTS
Ron: I've actually tuned a FAST system on a local 69 Z28. I've been programming factory LT1 ECM's(n/a, s/c'd, and turbo'd setups up to 800hp) for about 8 years and worked with a few stand alones. I was also involved in the beta testing of the AEM...
Re: Heffner\'s Prototype Twin Turbo Viper GTS
We're already planning an MIR track rental!
Tony: I have no doubt it will get better! I know I suck, but this sucker can't seem get this smile off his face!! So I'm ok with it!
Jeff: You can't go wrong either way! :)
Gary: The...
Heffner\'s Prototype Twin Turbo Viper GTS
It is alive and well! Jason has definitely raised the bar with this twin turbo kit!
I am normally a person who turns his own wrenches and describing my personality as "particular" would be an understatement. Initially it was very difficult...
The Xenon Depot kit had excellent quality and I purchased the 6000k version. I used that kit on my previous Supra and was very satisfied. The kit consisted of a Phillips ballast/igniter(Packaged together), wiring harness(fused) and the bulbs.
On my Viper and my current Supra, I went with the...
Re: HID\'s
I installed a kit from http://www.xenondepot.com and it turned out very nice.
I believe they are still selling HID kits due to the fact they are based out of Canada.
The market is not easy to sell a Viper GTS right now. I think you'll end up not getting what you want for your car and losing money on the sale of your car. Instead, I would just keep your current car and install forged pistons. Plus, you won't be able to get that color in a 99 or below...
Definitely keep looking as that is a poor deal. FYI, I bought my 99 GTS with 5500 miles and absolutely excellent condition for $45k in March 2003.
Also, keep an eye on autotrader.com, cars.com, and ebaymotors.com.
Re: VA/MD VCA Dyno Day At Heffner\'s New Shop (pics)
Lee: In due time, I will release the details of my setup. :) For now, Jason would prefer to keep it on the quiet side to make sure the project will fly to his satisfaction. ;)
Don't be too hard on my Supra buddies! (j/k) (Yes...

Austin,
Thanks for the compliments. :)
Sorry, I'm not Italian. :) It's a nickname that I somehow picked up over the years. I'm actually Indian, or try to be most of the time! :D
Redsnake: Nice!
Re: VA/MD VCA Dyno Day At Heffner\'s New Shop (pics)
