    B&M Shifter Question

If you bolt the original knob/rod to the B&M, it will the same height. Or you can use an aftermarket knob (MGW) and screw it to the B&M rod for a lower height.

Ride height - it's your call, whatever you like. Under your side frame rails are the 4 jacking points, oval shaped rod - 2 left, front & rear; and the 2 on the right. Just a suggestion - from level ground to the front jacking points, 3.50" H. Rear try 3.75" H. Drive around, see if you like...

The yokes go either way - just grab one and screw it to the shock body. I use anit-sieze on the shock thread to keep them from corroding. Tighten as much as you can by hand - that is tight enough. The threaded shock will bottm-out inside the yoke. They will not come undone. Having been through...

Remove spings from each shock. Everybody I know uses a cut-off wheel or chop saw. Clamp the yoke in a H.D. vise attached to an unmoveable table. Tighten a large pipe wrench around the lower body of the shock where the spanner or special tool would go. Attach your 6' cheater bar to the pipe...

    Clutch Questions

IMHO, yes, the aluminum flywheel is worth the price & effort for the gain. Others most certainly will disagree, that is fine. We shift a lot in road racing. The quicker the shift light turns on, the sooner we can shift to the next gear. That 32 .lbs iron stock flywheel takes more power and...

    Gen 3 Tow Hooks

You need 4 of the "R" hooks and 4 heavey duty ratchet straps. Don't skimp on the straps, buy the best you can afford. What is your car worth to you? Criss-cross your straps to the trailer D-rings, tight in front, tighter in the rear. What does your trailer weigh? Your car? Your tow vehicle? Tow...

    Clutch Questions

You can't beat the stock LUK, especially for the price. Drag cars may get better life from another type, but for road racing and street driving you are fine with the LUK. The aluminum flywheel is a cheap upgrade for the increased engine response, especially if you do it at the same time.

VIR or Sebring best track for Novice?

Boxer - enjoy VIR in April, you lucky....... Tip: to set up the back straight, you have to get through Oak Tree perfectly. More guys loose time getting through Oak Tree poorly. To get through Oak Tree clean, where you are flat on the throttle as soon as possible for the lang back straight - you...

    shifter question

The aftermarket shifters are manufactured better. For some Viper owners, all they want is a shorter shifter (knob) height. In road racing, we may shift 15 times per lap, times 12 laps per session, times 4 sessions per day = 720 shifts x 3 days = 2160 shifts. The stock shifter has weak springs, a...

What RPM do you cruise at?

Chuck, while that may be true, you are also known for "cleaning" your spark plugs regularly with healthy displays of acceleration!

    5-point safety harnesses installation

If you are serious about actually using them, then make sure you get padded straps like the TeamTechs. As JD said, don't get 5 points, get the 6 points. They both require a seat with a hole in the bottom to pass through!

    Temp Guage

Remove the cowl - 4 little screws & your wiper arms is all it takes. Set cowl on winshield. Now you have plenty of room.

Eventhough I have the B&M, I have driven both on the track. I can't "feel" any difference between the two. You can't go wrong with either.

VIR or Sebring best track for Novice?

Janni is right, and Rich is also right. VIR usually becomes everyone favorite. It's big and spread-out. The hills, blind corners, fast straights, and the scenery are all fantastic. You run a large portion of each lap with the gas pedal flat! I want to retire in the area just to run this track...

Couple of ?'s on '01 GTS

Re: Couple of ?\'s on \'01 GTS Yes, you could Heli-Coil the bad plug hole on the car. Should you? Not on a Viper, I would not. Just pull the head. Not that different from any other head you may have pulled. Fix plug hole, get car to certified Viper Tech. for analysis.

New Viper Owner - Did I make a big Mistake???

Dagger When you get a chance, memorize Janni's response. Everyone is different, and you definitely know performance, but it can be hard to "feel" the correct time to shift the Gen III Vipers. I saw this several times last year instructing at the Viper Days events. Yes, a shift light helps...
