I'm thinking about buying some 4 or 5 point safety harnesses. I dont like being in a car with so much power and only having normal lap belts. The thing is I dont want to modify or hack up the car much to install them. What would need to be done to install a set?

Would it be better (and easier) to install 4 point harnesses? I dont go to the track any, so it'd be more of a safety/poser mod so I prob really dont need 5 points.

chad, if you are putting those in and not racing, I think you are wasting your time/money. aren't yellow wheels "poser" enough?

Being an RT/10, I would just like the added safety of better seatbelts. Since the stock belts are prone to unbuckling in a rollover, I dont wanna end up flying out the top. I know im prob being overly cautious here, but you never know.

From what I recall, the 4/5/6 point harnesses aren't approved for "street" use; aka just can't buckle up and go to the hamburger joint...plus if you need to scratch your passengers *** for any reason, you're pretty much outta luck. Plus,I think when I tightend up in mine, I couldn't even adjust the rear view mirror.

If you are serious about this, get the 6pt instead of the 5. the 5 can kill you. it is good for drag racing, but the 6 is a heck of a lot more comfortable (i had a 5 and switched to 6). also, check out the ILLUSTRATED UPGRADES for installation instructions...

If you are serious about actually using them, then make sure you get padded straps like the TeamTechs.
As JD said, don't get 5 points, get the 6 points. They both require a seat with a hole in the bottom to pass through!
