First Viper track excursion

Thanks for the input all. I ran Castrol in my Cobra and was pretty happy with it. Air deflectors are a good idea, though I never needed them with the cobra -- I'm going to take it one step at a time, but will keep them on the short list. Any thoughts on peddals or are you guys living with...

    First Viper track excursion

Drove Laguna Seca last Friday in the Viper for the first time. The car is 100% stock, I haven't done any mods because I wanted to see what was there. I've heard the comments on the brakes, but I really had no clue how bad they were -- sort of a surprising decision by DC for the caliber of this...

Just Ordered a 2002 Graphite ACR

Good show safireviper. Just picked mine up in Dec, and I have to say the car is everything I wanted and more. Awesome machine, excellent build quality, and I was impressed with the (unexpected) level of refinement and finish; I mean, hey, vipers are supposed to be this brutish...

    Laguna Opportunity

With the Nor Cal Shelby club, one day on Friday Feb 15th. Details here: http://www.norcal-saac.org/ (follow nav bar to opentrack schedule) I'll be there for the shake-down run on the ACR. With a week to go it looks like a small group -- 68 cars pre-registered (100 max). Eric

Broke down and bought an open trailer, how do I tie the Viper down???

Ron: Any decent trailer place will have the eye-hooks (K or R hook?) you need, they're sort of standard, you need four and they're only a few dollars each. You'll also need four tie down straps with ratchet mechanism. A bit concerned with this part:
<font size="1" face="Verdana...

ACR belt recall who has had it???

Tony, My car had the new belts already installed when I bought it in Dec. I'm not real happy with the quality, webbing seems lighter than I'm used to and they certainly won't hold a cinch-down like some other belts. I'm going to use them for real at Laguna for my car's track inauguration on...

    Supercharged Viper picture...

Sean: What kind of HP numbers do you think you'll make (I suppose the numbers above could tell me if I was an engineer . . .)? What's your target application (street, strip, road course, full race)? Any thoughts on heat-soaking and how you manage? Thanks, Eric

    tilting trailers

Boosted, What are you planning on hauling anyway? Maybe you're looking to uphold your handle? I think the trailer is like 2500-2700 lbs and the car is 3350 add another 3-400 lbs for equip/tools etc, for a gross trailer weight of maybe 6500 lbs. The standard one works fine. It tows well...

    How many Vipers have stripes?

Looks like about 20% for the '01 model year. (not to take anything away from Jay and the job he's doing -- just a reformat of the data). Eric This message has been edited by MtHam ACR on 01-28-2002 at 02:14 PM

    ACR or GTS

Really your call on how you want to use the car. Upside to ACR: Wheels ($4-5K), suspension ($2K), exclusivity (~200/yr), harnesses, and nearly all come with comfort group (4 out of 227 didn't have AC/radio in 2001). Downside is the ride is rough (I'm thinking about backing off the rear spring...

    How to lower the ACR???

Yes, the alignment will need to be redone after you lower the car. OTOH, you could just have the suspension shop do the whole thing for you -- make sure you use a good one. Eric
