Corsa Exhaust with High Flow Cats vs Stock Exhaust with Muffler Delete and HF Cat

I really wanted the Corsa exhaust on my GTS, but went with the Borla since it was about $600 less. Then spent $100 for muffler shop to add a crossover pipe behind the rear end to knock out some of the cruising drone. Went with 2 1/2 inch. I would say the power gain was minimal. My car sounds...

Red '94 3 Piece Hard Top - wanted

Three piece top with quick sport bar release and windows is about $3,800. You might be better off to see if the seller is willing to keep the hardtop (and hard windows if they come with the deal) to sell themselves in exchange for a lower purchase price. Factory hardtops are hard to sell as...

    1996 RT/10 Starting Issue

My 94 is doing the same as you describe. Starts cold first time every time. Once it has been driven and is hot, I may have to turn the key ten times until the car cranks. No clicking, no nothing and when it does crank it cranks strong. I have replaced the starter and still have the problem...

    My RT/10s value just shot

When I was looking for a Gen 1, I considered Alan Jacksons red 93 and Chris Farley's black 94 or 95, I don't remember which. I don't recollect either one having a price premium for prior owner. Prior Chris Farley ownership may have actually reduced the value. Sorry, but I never heard of Mason...

    Prefilling Oil Filter

Older fella is right! My first car was a 60 Corvair that had been rolled by the previous owner (my brother-in-law). My second car was a 56 Ford 312 that burned/leaked so much oil I bought used motor oil from the gas station in gallon milk jugs to run through it. I have a cousin who is a...

selling my '99 gts for $29k

I agree that the end of production of Viper as we know it next month is going to give a boost to resale over the course of time. Lots of folks will be kicking themselves in the future when they think they had an opportunity to buy a GTS for 28.5K. Where are all the buyers who are...

Guess my 1/4 mile ET and get $20!

Knowing nothing about the whereabouts of the split second box you need to get back or who is going to do the tune, I am guessing it is likely you make no 1/4 mile pass either tomorrow or next Thursday. Otherwise 10.96. I take Paypal.

    Prefilling Oil Filter

You may laugh, but my dad used to drain half the oil and then replace it with kerosene and run the engine with a motor oil/kerosene 50/50 mix to "desludge" the old Fords he drove. I guess that explains why he always had premature main bearing failure. He is the one who taught me to change...

    Prefilling Oil Filter

I have seen several posts where someone said they prefilled the oil filter before installing it. What is supposed to be the point of this? I have always oiled the gasket and called it good. I asked someone who worked at an oil change shop and they said they generally prefill filters on...

selling my '99 gts for $29k

I agree. It is badass for the borrower, kind of like subprime no money down home loans were for the borrower. When prices went south, they could just walk off and give the house back with little money in the game. For the lender or the depositor whose assets are being lended, maybe not so hot.

selling my '99 gts for $29k

There are very few "great deals" on used cars. There are, however, what seem like extremely low prices. You normally get what you pay for and sometimes less than that. Great deals can only be determined by the buyer after the fact. I don't want to have any money in a credit union that...

    Cracks in the hood

Yes, but why bother. Most likely there will be more as time goes on. Most owners would rather have original paint with minor cracks than a hood repaint.

Converting my GenII to a GenI

The zipper windows on the Gen 1's never let you down like this. Looks like your drag racing days are over. If the other side breaks in the up position, you can't track or drag race either one.

#209 Ready to Hit The Road

Yeah, the luggage can be a definite problem since the top and windows take up 90% of the trunk. Second on the tires. The tread may be great, but 18 year old tires are very hardened and dangerous. Get new PS2's all around before you head out.
