Here's a quick little video of a 115mph flyby on a truly closed off road...Just jackin' around w/a digital camera, sorry for the bad quality...
Here's a Granny Shifting 80-150 pull just takin 'er easy...
Again, sorry for the horrible quality...
I've made a firm decision to sell my car. I'm wanting to road race and join a particular drag racing league this season and I'm getting into a time crunch to have a car ready ( I currently don't even have a car for it and the first race is early April!! But I have a few prospects). Obviously...
Got tired of the weak driveline parts breaking every other week on my modified vette. Realized how affordable the viper was and haven't looked back. Owned 6 vipers since my last vette!
Re: I know I'm in for a world of bashing, but what are your thoughts of an LSX motor.
Cheap is not a priority, but just one of the "pros"...I love vipers!
What are your thoughts of putting an LSX motor in a GenII GTS? My reasoning would be...
--you'd have a lot of room in the engine bay for a Big turbo
--you could rev the heck out of it
--you don't have to pay viper tax on an engine build
--parts are way more available
--everything nearly bolts...
Anyone have experience w/the 345/35/18 M&H DR vs. the 345/35/18 mickey thompson? The mickey thompsons are a bit cheaper it seems, but I want the stickiest sucker out there! Do you think I'll have fitment issues w/a lowered viper? did a search and couldn't find much. thanks--Andy
Re: Who ever hasn't taken there viper out on a road course if you get the chance take
Great thread. After you've gone out for the first time you just want to tell the whole world about it cause it's undescribable! I love the road course! Unfortunately for me I love drag racing just as much. So...
starting from the 2nd paragraph...What i mean by dead hooking in 2nd gear is mainly for the street. 1st gear has always been useless. At the track I'd short shift 1st just to get into 2nd where I could find traction. I'd love to hook in first but I think I'd need a better tire. I run on bfg 18"...
Agreed! 100%:drive:I guess ol Bob is failing to get my point! Aftermarket suspensions have many purposes! Could I benefit from a drag package? Maybe...But the car has already "been there done that" in the drag racing world and done it VERY successfully w/the existing moton suspension. Much...
Having an aftermarket suspension helps w/safety, ride, and road manners among others. The guys at UGR won't let a high hp car leave w/out a penske or moton setup. I guarantee there's hardly any hardcore road raced TT Vipers. I understand your point, but to each their own. To me (and apparantly...
ok...so, since some guys are determined that my motons are a waste...how do I keep my car from spinning SO badly when coming out of a turn at the road course:D
Seriously, of course I'm not going to put the car on a road course w/that kind of power. As I stated, I'll gladly put a purpose built...
When I bought this car it already had moton suspension. The car would dead hook w/900rwhp from 2nd gear and up! Since then I've freshened the motor and the car sat for a good bit causing the nitrogen shocks to leak out a little. So after I got those pumped back up to the recommended 175psi the...
Thanks for the heads up Kenric! You saved me a lot of trouble. And yes, it's your old car. Absolutely awesome car! You don't have any of the old receipts by chance do you? What made you get rid of the car in the first place?
Last time on the dyno my car made 893rwhp under really hot temps (100*). I have the bellanger (2.5" i think) exhaust right now w/the crossover. The car is insanely loud as it is, but my question is. If my tuner makes a custom 3" or 3.5" exhaust going straight out the sides, will I pick up much...
There's nothing better than an Italian's interior imo. But there's no other car I can think of that can take a beating over and over again like a viper. That's why I got out of the vette game and into the vipers. And I was in a parking lot w/a bunch of rustangs and vettes and a few other odds...
What's to keep someone from running custom pipes/mufflers directly from the headers to the side exits on the viper? With bullit mufflers would it still be just way too loud? I've got belanger exhaust w/no cats and it's really loud, but I can live with it. I just feel like w/all the extra...
If you can get your 60ft. in the mid 1.X's, you'll easily run around 11.5... I've gone 11.8 on a bone stock "03 car using PS2's. However most guys seem to have a hard time getting in to the 1.X's period their first time out. Practice/driver mod is the key
well, I got the shocks ironed out and it helped tremendously. However, at WOT in 4th the car pulls hard left. Do you think this could be strictly an alignment issue, or definitely the rear diff.? Could it be as simple of a fix as putting fresh fluid in the diff? Thanks!--Andy
No kidding, so annoying! Bought my first one at 23 w/my own hard earned money. But seriously, how many of these threads can be started in a 1 year time frame...who cares how young.
