Why do I read of 94/95 recalls on gaskets?

Nothing on that site about head gaskets for either 94 or 95 Vipers. Here's the text for the 95. '94 is similar with a few less bulletins: Office of Defects Investigation Report Date : January 13, 2005 at 07:18 PM SEARCH TYPE : VEHICLE YEAR : 1995 Make : DODGE Model : VIPER...

NEW product for Gen 1 Vipers only!!

Actually Tom, this compliments a mod that I was about to write instructions for. I've added an industrial bearing and housing to the clutch/brake pedal shaft and box assembly. The housing of the bearing also strengthens the entire pedal box. I took careful notes and got plenty of pictures but...

Which paint did you use for the garage floor ?

I did my garage with the Rust-o-leum two-part epoxy garage floor paint from Home Depot. I did all the prep work to the nth degree. Took several days working into the wee hours of the morning. I used 6 or 7 gallons of stripper, the included acid mix, and scrapped, brushed and sanded like...

This may be ghetto, but the Enzo Ferrari has it..why not a Viper.

The SL600's air suspension is really intended to auto-level the car and make the suspension's hardness adjustable. It DOES raise the car up but only an inch or two. Many Mercedes have had auto-adjusting air suspensions over the last 20 years but I don't think any of them were adujstable by the...

What do you guys think of this oil heater for the cold weather?

ab, I don't remember whether the oil pan is steel on the Viper or not but if it is, have a look at this: http://www.irvansmith.com/catalog2/parts/magnetic_oil_heater.shtml --Rob

What do you guys think of this oil heater for the cold weather?

The other thing is every time you add something to your oil system like that, it's just another opportunity for it to leak. --Rob

ANYONE Have Any Ideas or Solve This Problem? HELP!!

Actually, referring to the temperature gauge, my Viper would do this when I had a large air bubble trapped in the cooling system. Hasn't done it for a while now that I've gotten all the air out of it.

THIS GUY TRIED TO SCAM ME THROUGH THE VIPER FORUM!!!

Guys...did you ever stop to think that this whole scam is something called "organized crime"? Italians aren't the only ones with a mafia you know. You may want to watch your back 2fast. These guys may be two-bit hoods or they could be an international crime ring built to finance a Nigerian...

WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET A TRAFFIC TICKET

Re: Depends on what kind of Ticket In VA and DC these cameras are only used to levy fines. They don't count as points against your record. The Washington Post had an article about a coating you can spray on your license plate that causes the flash to over-expose making the plates unreadable...

How to REALLY get out of a ticket!

Actually, I work for a board of federal judges and several large law firms as a consultant. I work on the computer systems though, not the actual legal work. I am NOT an attorney. The laws vary from state to state. In Virginia, where I am, the code states that "In any court or legal...

How to REALLY get out of a ticket!

Someone posted recently about the old method of avoiding points on your license when you get a ticket by sending in a check for more than the fine amount. From what we saw, it doesn't work in most places. I even tried it myself in Virginia and it doesn't work. However, I have now gotten out...

WHAT TO DO IF YOU GET A TRAFFIC TICKET

Re: Nope It doesn't work in Virginia either. I tried it a few years ago and the points showed up anyway. However, I did recently get a ticket thrown out. I'll start another thread now called "how to REALLY get out of a ticket". --Rob

Gen 1 Head Work / Copper Head Gaskets?

Rocket, I was the one working on the copper head gaskets. After talking to several experts I found that standard copper head gaskets would require that grooves be machined into the heads or block of the Viper engine to accomodate an o-ring. This kinda eats up any price savings and gaurantees...

Can the National VCA help with this!!!!

Re: Can the Natl VCA get away with this!!!! The only people who are really going to have problems are those who want a concours correct Viper. So far, I don't think I've seen ANY of those people on this board. ;) Everyone here is too busy talking about their mods. I like to use original...

    Head Gasket Picture?

I remember someone posting a picture of a rotted out head gasket on here some time ago but I can't find it now. I'm about to replace mine and would like to see what I'm dealing with. Does anyone have a good pic? --Rob

Where can I get the bushings for the pedal assembly?

Prodiver, I would bet that the pedal box itself is the real problem. Take the whole thing out and see of the hole the shaft goes through is elongated. There's not bushing there and the shaft just rubs right up against the pedal box wearing the hole. The clutch pedal then moves from side to...

    Clutch pedal bearing

Funny...I was just talking about this the other day. DO NOT drill a hole in your Viper to slide the rod out. The whole pedal assembly is easily removed once you disconnect a few wires and take out five bolts. Even the pedal shafts disconnect very easily. I removed mine and found that the...

Shared parts between Vipers and other brands.

A fuel pump relay for $22? I wouldn't complain. The ones for a Mercedes are $189. And that's the cheap Mercedes. Anyway, there are numerous parts on the Viper that cross reference with other cars. The auto industry has been using outsourcing quite heavily for the past couple of decades...

    VA vipers

I'm in Alexandria. There are plenty of events in the Northern Va area usually but alot of them just happened to get cancelled this year due to all the strange weather. Also, Biff Brown of Vipermania is in Springfield, VA. We also have the benefit of being fairly close to Jason Heffner's shop...

Pat, I'd be willing to try out the copper head gaskets. Call me at (703)780-5629 when you get a chance. I was going to have some of these custom made but your WhiteSeal Technology sounds interesting. Does it replace the o-rings perhaps? Or the spray-on selant? Post more about it here for...

VIRGINIA area Viper owners -------- help!!!!!!!

Actually, there's a company called Wicked Wheels that does this in Northern Virginia. He's been doing wheels for my dad's Mercedes-Benz shop for years and does good work. He also has very reasonable prices. The way it usually works is he goes around to various dealerships throughout the week...

never buy a viper from ebay with out a personal inspection

My business partner bought a 1964 Morgan on e-bay recently. He bought it sight unseen. We flew to New York to get it and what a surprise! The car was EVEN BETTER than the pictures indicated. The shop we bought it from sent someone to pick us up at the airport and were very nice people...
