if you dont mill the heads then you dont change the geometry and if you use the stock rockers then the stock pushrods will work, BUT I dont know of anyone who has ever put a set of heads on that didnt go with roller rockers(I am sure someone has but why).
Heads and rockers are like peas and...
They must have started price gouging after Katrina. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND SCANDALOUS AS WELL. No way should a manufacturer charge a grand for some head gaskets.
I pray I am missing somethiing here.
turbos act as an extra set of mufflers.
the camns out of the early genII's are good but there is definetly more power to be had out of a properly ground cam and a "Good" set of heads.
Depends on what the application will be. Different cam grounds whether it will be TT, s/c or NA.
Pretty easy...
$1100 for head gaskets??? UR kidding right?
I have never paid over $300 for the complete upper gasket set for my GENII. Head gasket, intake and thermostat.
Re: Preliminary new FASCIA images!!!!!
so is this a venom fascia that you picked up from someone or one independent of heneseiy? You may have said someone and I missed it.
Chad
Dunno for sure. I ordered a thinner set my GenII a few months ago and put them on. Heres the website >>> http://www.cometic.com/
If you call let me know what you find out.
John
the chebby guy can easily change them for you. While you are at it you can get a set from Cometic that are thicker and it will lower your compression and allow for more boost.
I havent followed the whole GenI head gasket thing but if you are thinking it may be a problem them go ahead and take...
cant wait to run a new Z. No excuse for the Viper. It got pulled during acceleration pretty bad. So unless the driver didnt have it floored, there was no excuse to get beat that bad,.
The Z is a strong car and I think based on weight and aerodynamics it will outrun a Viper at speed stock...
Re: what do you think of this \'01 RT/10??
I had to have the dealer replace some hinge parts on my left front due to the fact that is where I open the hood(front that side) most of the time. It had just worn out and wasnt closing fully.
color looks fine to me.
I have the CCW's. Dunno if the 14.5 is gonna fit. I know to get a 28" tire under there it takes a little tweaking of the fenderwell I believe for when it grows at the other end.
Smaller the rim the better because it allows more sidewall. Most use 16's as far as street legal slicks go but there has been alot of 15's making the scene with drag radials on them.
As far as best I think it comes down to preference. I have a set of MT but will be trying the Hoosiers next...
Re: TNT nitrous dyno run.....graph looks similar to 2001 GTS\'.....
I add timing with my nitrous. These cars just dont have enuf above 4 grand especially for a 488 ci block. Timing = horsepower(Doug Levin)
I would and did plan on using the 3/8 but unfortunately Comp Cams does not make on for my 7.4 length in a 3/8.
I would agree it would be ideal to go with the 3/8 if possible especially when doing head work. Most I believe just slap a set of rockers on the stock springs and use the 5/16 and...
Re: Extended Warranty\'s ??
I think he has always been a satellite dealer handling most of King's warranty work. Dont know how all that car stuff works, but I am sure he can sell them.
If PBJ can sell them I am sure he will give you a great deal and plus he can service the car personally.
Re: TNT nitrous dyno run.....graph looks similar to 2001 GTS\'.....
I would get your local muffler shop to weld you a bung in the exhaust right before the collector. Dont put it on the bottom since condensation will build up there. On the side works fine.
I would do this before anything else...
I have only seen 5/16 and 3/8 sizes in a Viper. I dont know if there is enuf room along side the head gasket to get a 7/16 in there. 3/8 is plenty strong and most just use 5/16 which I had to do since Comp cams didnt make a 3/8 in a 7.4 length.
Re: TNT nitrous dyno run.....graph looks similar to 2001 GTS\'.....
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....disregard what I said earlier.....as I look back at the graph I see your lean spike is coming in about 700 to 800 rpms after the nitrous hits. That doesnt make since.
The lean spike I am talking about...
Re: TNT nitrous dyno run.....graph looks similar to 2001 GTS\'.....
ps - and I believe both Jack and Phil are using the VEC2 for their fuel versus a solenoid. The VEC2 is relatively easy to install and many including Sean use it so you wouldnt have a problem getting tech support, but honestly...
