94 Viper Paint Changed from Viper Red to Orange over the summer and tiny paint blisters everywhere

Factory paint? Felt the need to expand my thought, had the car been painted prior to your ownership. This is the first fiberglass car I have ever owned, not sure how paint holds up long term on fiberglass composite compared to metal or other composites.

    Storage Problem

Understatement of the year award goes to... Definitely needs a shop vac, pressure wash, and a whole lot of finger crossing. The new storage location couldn't hurt either after repurposing your critter hotel.

    Sway bar bushings

In that case, do a search for sway bar endlinks made by Mevotech, Delphi, or Moog as a start. I'm not sure which companies bought which, or who is making who these days. There are many, and opinions and experiences will vary. I would figure if your driving is not overly demanding, most will...

    Sway bar bushings

If you google energy suspension polyurethane bushings for your year Viper, you will come up with a bunch of purchase options.

94 Viper right sidepipe overheating and melting sill plate under door. Any ideas as to why this is occurring

If it's only on the one side, I'd look towards a clogged cat or bad O2 sensor.

    New Viper Owner

The Continental Extreme Contact Sport 2's have also served me well. I'm out in the NW, so I wanted a sport tire that had a good reputation in the wet.

Pedal options - better heel/toe and shorter clutch throw?

I'd be curious to hear any first hand experience with this product. From the reading, the clutch would become stiffer, but there are fixes for that as well. Far from a necessity, but the thought of improving the clutch pedal throw and feel has me intrigued.

Inherited a 94 Viper want to sell I don’t know anything about them.

There have been a few 94's that sold on Bring A Trailer in the last few months. They have ranged from $33 1/2k - $40k with miles under 20k - over 40k. Not a bad place to compare miles and condition to those that have sold recently. They also have comments you can read through to gather a little...

Gen 2 vs. Gen 5 GTS

Are you opposed to upgrading the gen 2 gts brakes? Someone else will have to chime in on how good factory are balanced, and if they are prone to lock up. A previous owner installed AP Racing 6 piston calipers up front, and PBR brakes out back on my car. Still using factory rotors, and a...

    Control Arm Bushing Up-Grade-...

Like GTS Dean pointed out, tightening down on those bushings at full droop is a no no. Using a jack to move the suspension to it's proper location has always served me well.

    Tapping noise

Sounds like a two person job. Car off the ground with one person engaging the drive train, other person spotting. If it's motor or transmission mounts, should be pretty noticeable. Like you mentioned, exhaust is another good place to look. Maybe even something ridiculous like road debris could...

    Tapping noise

When you say tapping, do you mean a single tap corresponding to your throttle input? If that is the case, you might want to look at motor or transmission mounts.

    Control Arm Bushing Up-Grade-...

Worthwhile upgrade for sure. I rebuilt my entire suspension using energy poly bushings. I love that a sports car the caliber of a Viper doesn't cost Ferrari money to rebuild/upgrade.

    1994 RT/10 Idler Pulley fail

My tensioner gave up the ghost recently. Thank God it was right up the road from my house, and held together until I was home. Couldn't hurt do the radiator hoses while you have the easy access.

Gen 2 vs. Gen 5 GTS

Sounds like money isn't the issue, so comes down to what you want out of the experience. If refinement is the higher priority, you know which generation gets you there. If nostalgia is higher on the pecking order, there is a clear winner to me between the two choices. Both will offer a unique...

    ACR Koni Shock Manual Supplement

Here is the contact info from when I had my 2812's rebuilt. Performance Shocks Inc. 1-800-965-5664. Assuming that nothing has changed in the last 2 1/2 years, they were the company doing Koni's stateside rebuilds. I had no issues with them. They will do an inspection of parts , and ensure none...

    ACR Koni Shock Manual Supplement

Unfortunately I don't, I adjusted mine somewhere between esthetically pleasing and functional. Too low and every speedbump or driveway becomes a federal production to attempt. Remember that adjusting your ride height can effect other components like steering. Advisable to check alignment afterwards.

    ACR Koni Shock Manual Supplement

The adjustment is pretty straight forward. There is a locking collar on the bottom that you need to back off, then rotate the next higher collar to adjust ride height as needed. Process is the same as many other coilovers.

    Trying to upgrade to gen5

Depends on which Gen 5 you're talking about. Some of the ones I have seen on BAT recently would put you in the right ballpark. It depends if the asking price is more important than less cash and a car to the seller.

    The Quest for 275 MPH

While I'm reading how you have parts located/packaged in this car, it got me to wondering, what is an ideal weight bias in a car built to go the speeds you are looking to achieve? I'm sure some of the placement is just where things fit, but is weight distribution considered for anything more...

    Replace or not?

What they mean by water content is the fluid has hydroscopic properties (absorbs moisture). For brake fluid, that can be a safety issue if you race or drive the vehicle in a manner that requires heavy braking. Water content will lower the point at which brake fluid boils. Once that happens your...
