How to replace the Gen 1 Clutch Pedal Bushings

The problem: My mechanic told me I needed a new clutch safety switch. I did not. The actual problem is the clutch pedal has some left-and-right wiggle. As you press on the clutch pedal, the pedal arm catches on a bracket. You think it's bottomed out, but it's not. Wiggle it to the right and you...

    Gen 1 Amplifier connectors

I think these are them: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/165399088752 Our amps are similar to the Alpine 3540 Just as an FYI, I believe that both the left and right amps are slightly different in the Gen 1 viper. When I opened both of mine, there were subtle differences in the resistors and stuff...

Can you Rehab a Gen3 speedo plastic lens with spots? help needed

It should be possible. Platic polishing kits exist. There's an 80's retro arcade near me that uses Novus 3 stage polisher to fix their scratched acrylic pieces on their cabinets. They like it. You should be able to search amazon for "Novus 7136 Plastic Polish Kit". I haven't used this product...

Easy way to replace clutch pedal bushing.

It's time to replace my clutch pedal bushing and I was hoping to use the info on this thread to make it easier. Is there any way to access these images? They have urls like http://gallery.viperclub.org/data/500/medium/IMG_11441.JPG&hash=9976d03723f3e91a69dd3e67bda88742 Are they accessible from a...

Gen 1: Dash cam wire routing?

Does anyone have any clever ideas for routing a wire to the top of the dash for a dash cam? It looks very difficult to get access to the windshield header wire route area that the rearview mirror lamps use. I was thinking I could hide one of these usb-c pigtail sockets somewhere, but I'm open to...

    Wanted: Gen 1 Cassette Radio

While not OEM, this guy might have something period-correct: https://www.oldschoolalpinerepair.com/category/all-products I bought his in-house made Alpine 4913 Interconnect and it works great.

    Tom's 40mm rear caliper upgrade

Side note: It's a good time to replace brakes lines as well. Part numbers: StopTech 950.63504 - SS Brake Line Kit - Rear StopTech 950.63006 - SS Brake Line Kit - Front tdot.ca did try to cancel my order saying they were discontinued. I called Centic (parent company of StopTech) and they...

Just in case you weren't already aware, the fog lights don't turn on unless the headlights are also already on.

Yup. All good. I heard back yesterday. It sounds like they're just really busy, and missed my messages.

    [solved] AutoForm?

Does anyone know how to reach AutoForm? I put a deposit down a year ago and I just want to the know the progress or an update. I've tried calling a few times, sent an email, and left a voicemail message. I completely understand that they would be delayed since, at one point, their voicemail...

    Remote clutch slave bleed

Forgive my ignorance if Im missing something, but does the mityvac method not work on our T56's? It just seems easier than messing with a remote line. I've been tempted to install one, but I know I'll be kicking myself if I introduce a leak. https://youtu.be/1jhGAceCpx4?si=-nKtLYQqKikEW8VS

Sometimes stalls when coming to a stop.

I did manage to solve my problem. For synchronizing the throttle bodies, I did the usual routine then used my iPhone slow motion camera at 240 fps to capture both throttle plates opening while a friend slowly pressed the accelerator pedal. From reviewing the footage frame-by-frame they seemed...

    RT/10 GPS mount?

Interesting... There's so many of these out there that it's hard to judge what actually works. Thanks for the tip. I ordered one and will give it a try.

    RT/10 GPS mount?

Perhaps this has stumped others as well! I came up with one idea here: https://www.viperclub.org/vca/threads/3d-print-a-gen-1-gps-mount.679085/ I'm still interested in other suggestions if people have them.

    RT/10 GPS mount?

Does anyone have any clever ideas for mounting a phone or gps to a Gen 1 viper? I feel like I have a few half-baked ideas, but none I'm totally satisfied with. Pictures are great. Product makes and models are appreciated.

    Plugs and wires

oh yeah. I did do that. My Quality Wires came with a little packet of dielectric grease. I also made sure to re-push in all the plugs (on the coil side) once I was done all 10. By working on each wire one-at-a-time, it's easy to knock one of the 'done' ones loose while unplugging the 'next' one...

    Plugs and wires

I just changed my wires on my 93 using Quality Wires. Each was slightly shorter than the OEM wires (date stamped 93!) but I think it was intentional to cut out some of the slack. They fit the OEM wire clips without issue. But man... what a chore. Number 5 was the hardest. My right hand was...

    Power Steering Cap Fix

So I was at Monster Jam today and one of the truck's headers caught fire. It was safely extinguished and taken to maintenance. They announced the cause was power steering fluid spraying onto the headers..... I would have thought the fluid would smoulder more than completely ignite.
