They need to machine the plastic down for the Viper application. I think for the sock.
Or buy some playing cards, different sandpaper grades, clear coat and go to it.
Unless you have a chunk that requires welding fill in. Some will use bondo to fill that in so watch out.

Oscilloscope would help but if all you have is a voltmeter then you can try that. Back probe pin 11 when connected to the cluster.
You can disconnect pin 11 from the cluster. That is the wake signal to it from the BCM and turn the key to run.
Remove your battery, charge it overnight and go to one of the auto parts store if you are in the US to get them to load test it for free.

PCM is the voltage regulator.
Battery holds charge or charges to 100% but you need to load test it.
And you haven't even tested the charging system or attempted to troubleshoot. You are jumping pass toooooooo many things you need to test.
Oil temperatures need to be at a certain level. Colder is not better.
Have you measured snd logged oil temperature coming out of the engine and coming out of the cooler currently?
If your mechanic doesn't know how to check/test a simple sensor/wiring, you better find a different mechanic.
First step is to pull on/juggle the harness and see what happens.
Second is unplug the sensor and see what happens.
