this is not correct, to the best of my knowledge. There are different part numbers, but the part # revisions generally coincided with model year firmware changes. And as I recall, your firmware is updated when you first insert a new revision nav DVD anyway. There is only one RB1, and it...
Re: Sirius & RBQ - Maybe I\'m slow...
to put a finer point on it, the RB1 actually has an extra pin on the 10-way AUX input to handle this information. for most uses (CD-changer, U-connect, etc.) only 8 of the 10 pins are used, with the other two left as no-connect. RB1 uses one of those to...
Re: Sirius & RBQ - Maybe I\'m slow...
you can't, unfortunately. Only the RB1 (and possibly RB4) can do that. The non-navi radios with the exception of RBB and RBK only display channel # and channel name. The RBB and RBK only show the channel #.
DCX only pays dealers 2/10ths book time on warranty repairs. Dealers frequently try to weasel out of warranty work (esp. on something like a clutch) 'cos they don't make much (if any) money on it.
either will work. the 10-disc from a '02-'04 Grand Cherokee will work.
wherever you can fit it :p
not a chance. Ford and Chrysler used different buses. Chrysler's J1850 isn't compatible with the ACP bus Ford used in the Marauder.
RB1 does full map display, RB4 does not (it's "turn-by-turn.")
RB1 is one DVD-ROM for navi, RB4 is multiple CD-ROMs.
RB1 can't run navi without the disc, RB4 can to some extent.
RB1 is made by Alpine, RB4 is made by Harman-Becker.
er, no, it connects to the radio over normal copper wires. four audio lines, one battery, one enable, one ground, and two ACP bus wires.
well, the hottest part is the heatsink, and as it's a big hunk of aluminum, it'll take a while to cool down.
Re: The question that most can\'t answer correctly
The distinction is pretty much meaningless these days.
in the past, the bore spacing (not bore diameter itself) was one key characteristic; a wider bore spacing does allow for a larger bore diameter, and increases the size of the block.
There...
just use the Terk mini-antenna and the y-splitter. it works fine with teh Mopar tuner. I put one each in my parents' cars and they work great. They're magnetic so no drilling needed. You need the Terk SIRMINI antenna and the SIRSP splitter.
Sorry, don't buy it. The Challenger and Firepower are two completely different kinds of vehicles. IMHO, if the Firepower pushes anything out of the lineup, it'd be something like the Crossfire that gets the axe.
Nah. The Challenger is a 2+2 pony car. The Firepower concept was a luxury GT...
The average driver (who is inexperienced with such things) is likely to get stuck in an "OH S**T!!!" moment, where the next few seconds are wasted trying to figure out what to do next.
And quite frankly, your "BS" post was completely uncalled for. Go read up on what valve float is and does...
Re: First Picture Posting Experiment and Question Re: Damaged or Normal Spe
it's a ported enclosure. Not quite a conventional ported box, but the theory's the same.
the way you described it in your post above sounds correct. The port opening is shaped differently from the speaker...
as opposed to the flashy, multicolored rave-kiddie look of aftermarket units? Not to mention the microscopic buttons.
"Higher quality" of aftermarket radios is largely a myth. Features are what they offer. Take even the most expensive aftermarket radio, put it through the durability...
You really shouldn't use stick-on labels in any slot-loading drive, especially a changer. The heat from the radio can cause the label's adhesive to soften, the label will start to peel, then the disc gets jammed in the pinch rollers or elevators.
It does suck, to be honest. I have an SRT-4, and every stupid kit with a primered, fart-pipe-equipped Accord wants to take me on. I just ignore the kiddies.
'course, the worst was back when I had an SRT-10 for a week and some twat in a Jetta (o_O) revved it as I passed. As if
if it helps, you can use any 2003-2005 Chrysler radio in your car if it has the rounded faceplate. The RBB, RBK, RBQ, RBP, RAZ, RB1, and RB4 will all work properly. The 6-CD radio (RBQ) that's in your car is the same that is used across the entire Chrysler line. It's not a Viper specific issue.
Re: I\'ve been warned
Drama queen. The Constitution/BoR applies only to what the gov't can do. a privately held entity (this board) can suppress/censor whatever it wishes.
