    Irresponsible Leadership

Now that we have two members of randallas rainbow brigade, white and rocket involved... Hey rocket is your support for the VOA kinde of like how you were manipulating which region of the VCA you would join to finagle a $100 discount to VOI? Of course this is right after you were petitioning to...

    Irresponsible Leadership

Rocket- your dimwitted attacks against the messenger doesn;t change the message. But I'll follow your lead>You are an agent of Randalls Rainbow warriors, everyone knows it, the fact that you have not been banned here is a testament that this is really the only place for free speech. You are...

    Irresponsible Leadership

Free, let me do better this time, go get your popcorn... Don't fret the fake outrage from those guys who are still whining over 2 year old spilled milk while they let the current thievry that is ongoing at the VOA- What's that you say>>>? NVE1 > The VOA takes a free event from Dodge (yes free)...

    Irresponsible Leadership

Well if this was the VOA, it would simply be written up as "magazine" expenses. I know much has been spent on lawyers, but I think it's a fair question that should be answered by the new pres? When you look at the cost of these clubsm they aren't free to run, even with no hands in the cookie jar.

    Irresponsible Leadership

Aww rocket, I'm sorry you have to fall back on the low-information debate style of attacking the poster. Poor guy. I've been pretty clear I am no fan of emporer marshall, and you're not mininmizing me by saying I'm that dolt. Why don;'t you tell us what position in the VOA you hold sir? See...

    Irresponsible Leadership

For those of you in the know, you will see a post by an officer (not just one of the many board members, an officer), publicly saying the VCA raffle is "illegal" and their raffle (oh sorry, door prize) is somehow legal and NOT elitist. You would think after nearly 2 years these guys would pay...

New Membership Categories and Membership Questions?

Awww, poor OP has to worry about his $100 expenditure. Most of us consider $100 a decvent lunch or an ok dinner, but not OP, he must do an exhaustive set of research to spend a substantial portion of his net worth on a car club. Or is it, since there is no similar post at the VOA or VA, that...

Any fire sale priced Vipers out there at closing dealers?

I have found five '08s and '09s in the 67k to 72k range near kansas city. PM me if you want more details.

Winter Tire storage and tire performance

Bob Woodman won't ship in the winter and neither will John Purner- the main sources for viper slicks- so speak for yourself. Not sure tirerack is the best source for slicks- I couldn't even get Toyo Proxes RA1s from your store...

Winter Tire storage and tire performance

My experience is different, and I lived in Texas where the winters were mild. If any true slicks freeze, they just do not expand and contract properly during heat cycles any more. That makes them extremely dangerous when they heat up, no matter how many cycles are on the tires. I learned this...

    KC Area Viper Tech?

Thanks for the invite. I only own slicks for my viper, so I never drive it on the street any more. I also put it up on jack stands last weekend and put the tires indoors to avoid the freeze. I also have to work on Dec 6th. Maybe I can make it to another event in the near future...

    KC Area Viper Tech?

I am in Topeka and am in need of a good tech. I have a '97 GTS with Stoptech ST-60 fronts and ST-40 rear brakes. I am having significant brake issues at the track. Does anyone know of a good Viper tech in the KC area? I recently moved here from Dallas... TIA.

    Gen II GTS Brakes

The brakes have terrbile torque. My old wilwoods would put you on the windshield if you were caught without a restraint harness (although they faded after 15-20 min). My current brakes will not stop the car. I have used them with Toyo Proxes RA1s (brand new) and Yokohama A005 (S02) slicks...

    Gen II GTS Brakes

Thanks for the link. If they were good enough for Mumford, they must be great. I ran MSR in Dallas for years- that track is hard on brakes. I will look into the Movits, because my ST-60, ST-40 Stoptech system, with PFC 97 and 01 pads, motul 600, 14 inch front slotted rotors (328mm rears), and...

Winter Tire storage and tire performance

If they freeze, they are toast. I store my racing tires in large garbage bags (to prevent light) in the basement at 70 F all winter. With that being said, the V700s will tolerate cold better than softer slicks. The Hoosiers will crack if they freeze and they will be worthless. I would put...

Viper at Porsche Roadcourse event Compliation Video

Why not just upgrade from V700s to V710s? Makes a huge difference- just don't get caught in the rain. With all out slicks, I always thought Goodyear Eagle G1s were faster (and cheaper) than Hoosiers. I never get more than 6-8 hours from Hoosiers. I currently run Toyo RA1s (shaved) for fun...

Viper at Porsche Roadcourse event Compliation Video

I was at HPT that day. Maybe you should run with group 4 next time if you need more of a challenge? Fastest car that day in the fastest group (4) was a yellow GT3. There was also a '97 B/W T1 GTS and a white 911T that were fairly quick around the track... I was able to lap several cars in...

    Gen II GTS Brakes

Thanks for the input. I have Stoptech ST-60 (6 piston) fronts and ST-40 rears, and that is not enough brake for my car. I don't think Dave's kit is an upgrade to this setup, but I will look into the Brembo 8 piston setup and mov-it.

    Gen II GTS Brakes

What do you guys think is the absolute best brake kit for a GTS that is driven exclusively at the road course? I run slicks, motons, quaife, and 580 rwhp. Price is irrelevant- $5K, $10K, whatever... Thanks-

Anyone have a picture of Teamtech harnesses in a Gen I/II?

If you look at my add in the classifieds under '97 GTS for sale you will see a picture of Teamtech harnesses installed.

Pics of 6 piston StopTech Calipers Installed!

Here you go: The rear was actually no problem- almost an inch of clearance. The front was the issue. Two of the wheel bolts were longer than the rest, and I had to replace them with shorter bolts in order for the wheels to fit. Less than 1/2 inch clearance in the front...

Pics of 6 piston StopTech Calipers Installed!

Well, here are some pics of my new Stoptech 6 piston front calipers installed (finally): The rear brakes are now the ST-40 calipers, which are the fronts of most Stoptech big brake upgrade kits: If you are planning on upgrading to the ST-60 front calipers, be warned- my 18" CCW wheels...

Question for those with a Clear Bra

To remove it, just heat it up with a glue gun and it should peel right off. If any residue is left behind, you can remove it with any wax-prep kit. I used Pinnacle precleanse and the residual came right off without any scratches. Just don't forget to re-wax the fascia after you are done!

Question for those with a Clear Bra

I hit a tire wall at about 40-50 mph, directly on my clear bra on the passenger front side of the fascia. It was black as hell, but after I removed it there was no damage to the underlying paint. Amazing.
