08 Hood Question

Finally got my 08 hood after 1 year The hood was painted without the car and came out great! They say red is easy. The central air scoop , is there a black plastic insert or is it just painted. The Gen3 hood had a black plastic insert, does the Gen 4 hood also have the black insert?

Yes, the gen 4 hood scoop has the deflector which deflects water and debris from getting into the air intake.
