18\'s for a gen3 vert.

I just learned from job B. that gen 2 18's won't fit a gen 3 car without alot of mods. Something I never realized.

For us budget minded guys (the Air Force doesn't pay us much) what is the consensus for a set of track wheels?

I do mainly high speed autocross and if I am really lucky, 1 track day per year. To stay in the stock class I have even considered another set of stock wheels (if I can find a resonably priced set) with pilot aports.

I want to preserve my original wheels and tires.

thanks

What do you consider a lot of mods? All you need to install is an e-brake relocation kit. That is a block that moves where the e-brake cable attaches. That is all. Been there and done that. There is a post in the archives that shows the installation in pictures also.

By far the best bang for the buck in 18" wheels are the SSR Comps. They cost about the same as buying a good set of used factory wheels and are far lighter. I have them on my '04 vert and they really wake the car up. Hard to believe how much of a difference it makes. The e-brake relocation kit is no big deal (either in cost or in difficulty to install). Jon B. has both in stock and the best prices I have seen. Quick delivery too.

Those are only required if you want to use a Gen II wheel and not one designed for use with a Gen III.
