Gentlemen, just in case you weren't aware the coil packs for the 1996 GTS are different from the other Gen 2 coil packs. The coil packs that you will need that will fit yours comes from the 1996 Dodge Ram 3500. Just in case you need them. They can be purchased from RockAuto. Delphi and Walker products has some available. As a matter of fact the Walker brand, there's our get a instant 10% off manufactured rebate. Just thought I'd share since I had to purchase replacements for my 2000. I was looking for all the different years and I found out that the 1996 GTS is totally different. So just thought I'd share it anyway. Take care guys. Good luck

The Mitten
'97+ can use GEN3 if the excess trim pieces on the top of the connection are removed.

The Demon Coils are a common upgrade. The 1996 GTS guys can get the later connectors from either Scharf or maybe amazon and get a hotter coil if required.

Correct. You most certainly can change your connectors. The reason why I posted this is because I know that some guys may not want to do that and if you want to get some new ones that are probably a little bit better built than the originals, this would be a good option. I actually have the demon coil packs because I have a $2,000 so it's no problem but you're absolutely correct. Change the connectors and you'll be good. It all depends on what you want to do
