1996 hood pad

Hello, anyone with gen 1 or 2 remove the hood pad, mine is in bad shape in a few places, this is my fourth viper 2nd Gen 2 but never had the issue on the priors, not wanting to damage the paint, I would just replace it but they seem to be hard to come by, just trying to decide either way any input would be great

If you can find one, $1000 typically. if you do heat minimization under the hood, the pad won't be as necessary

I've run without them on 2 GEN2. Zero issues.
