3.33\'s versus 3.55\'s

Unitrax says they will have 3.33's sometime in 05.
Could we get some opinions on the benefits of the new 3.33's versus the .55's?
On Street and Track. Thanks.

Re: 3.33\'s versus 3.55\'s

High Intensity;

Not trying to hijack this thread, but Woodhouse did some nifty engine mods for me this summer and we picked up an extra 80hp and torque.

When the engine work was done, they suggested different rear gears; .373 to be exact. I said, "why ,373's? Why not .355's? Won't I just spin my wheels like crazy with .373's?" The answer was that because of the SRT's larger wheels, that the .373 would be much more fun all the way around. I agree with Woodhouse' suggestions 100%.

The ,373's have me saying to myself: "this is the way I always wanted my Viper to feel!".

Just my 2 cents, and Woodhouse was right on with this suggestion. Please give .373's your consideration!

Thanks,

Jim W.

Re: 3.33\'s versus 3.55\'s

Road racers may like 3.33's for track. It will provide some extra pull off the corners. 3.73's are more appropriate for the SRT than previous cars because of larger diameter rear tires. 3.55's seem to be the Goldilocks gear. Makes the car more like a viper is expected to be, but not too frantic with constant gear changes.
I think the decision will be determined by personal preferences, and driving styles.
These gears sets are a fantastic way to customize your Viper. They make a huge difference in the personality of the car.

Re: 3.33\'s versus 3.55\'s

I have 3.55's in my 04. And 3.73's in my 05 VCA Edition. 1st gear is just about useless with 3.73's. You will use 5th and 6th gears more for sure again with 3.73's. I guess i like both, there is a difference. Depends how you drive, where, Highway or city etc.
