\'96 RT stripes.. Vinyl or painted.

I was wondering if anyone knew whether the "sabre" stripes on the '96 RT/10 is painted or vinyl? I had always thought they were painted, like all other Vipers from the factory.

I believe the 96's were the only year to have vinyl stripes and then cleared to seal. I guess it was too difficult adn after that they got painted.

Can anyone tell me how they spray a clear coat over the vinyl without it lifting? Do they use a special clear coat (water based)?

You may want to use a clear vinyl over the stripes rather than a clear spray.

They didn't do it after 96 because it was too difficult.
