A/F Gauge Placement

I'm going to be installing an LC-1 WB02 controller in my car and also an A/F gauge. I'm wondering if anyone has installed a gauge in place of the OEM Volt meter? I don't really like the look of a Pod on the steering column and would prefer an in dash mount. Has anyone ever done this and if so how big of a pain is it to get in to the dash to do it?

Mike R - I believe so, I ordered the G2 innovate A/F gauge as part of the LC-1 kit. It is 2 1/16" has a white face which should match the other gauges closely. I don't have it in my hand yet though. But I see many advantages to going this route. The 12 volt source is obviously there, the backlit lead is there as well precluding the need to splice into a head light power wire per the G2 instructions. I would think someone has done this before and hope they chime in, it just makes sense to me.

I looked at the G2 guage as well, it looks very much like a stock guage. My only problem is trying to look at a needle, also when at 5krpms running hard and looking down low where volt meter is.

For now Im going with the AEM Eugo guage in a pod on steering wheel. Its digital so it easy to glance and see the readings. But I really want something that doesnt stand out and like your idea. Keep us updated. Im also shocked too, that there arent numerous threads of guys already doing this.

I've been trying to figure this out as well. I wish someone made a pillar pod for 2 gauges. I think I'm going to end up velcroing 2 small digital gauges (boost and A/f) somewhere on the steering column. See Square air fuel ratio gauge, velcro anywhere, size of a keychain remote. They make dual pod pillar mounts. Just saw it this morning. Try Roe racing or Parts rack

Mike R / ILLSMOQ - I just pulled my car out waiting for it to warm up to go for a drive. I was looking at the gauge cluster. I don't see an issue really with having to look down to much, but I do have another idea. After removing the volt meter it might be ideal to drop the rest down one hole and put the A/F in the top hole That is if the wires and everything will reach. What do you think of that?

Smart man, why didnt I think of that. Now if it will only work, like you said, only issue would be if wires will stretch. I cant see them being that tight, so it may work to lower the top ones one spot, but depending on if their in a loom, it might be tough to get wiring from bottom volt meter to top. Still you could tap in and add wire. Im sure its probably possible, again im just suprised no one ever attempted this.

There is a very good one there by Damn Yankee installing a bunge and another for wiring in a LC-1 for a Gen 2, but nothing for us SRT-10 guys. I'll post one up for the Gen 3 and hopefully it will include a dash mounted A/F gauge.

I was thinking the same thing. Worst case you have to cut the wires and extend them a bit.

.....still want a boost gauge too.

I made a bracket that mounts on the rear of the hood. Mounted three gauges, fuel pressure, boost and A/F. Makes monitoring gauges much easier.

I just installed a couple of gauge cups in my old SRT TT. Then mounted two Innovate gauges for A/F and Fuel pressure...

My current SRT TT has a boost gauge in the place of the volt gauge, and I just use my AEM to monitor/log the A/F, etc.

I didn't add any gauges on my new car. Heffner already had the boost gauge ILO the volt gauge. The dash panel looks great wrapped in stitched leather....
