I know I've seen posts on this before, but maybe somebody has
new info.
I (ie. the wife) wants a CD player. I went to the local stereo
shop and asked about it. He looked up the Viper specs in a
book they have and said it would only run about $90 for
installation, but he couldn't sell me the CD player itself.
He says the only compatible unit is an Alpine, and he is prohibited from selling Alpine components. He directed me to
an Alpine dealer in town.
Does this sound like the real story ? Are there any alternatives ?
Thanks

Robert,

Had the same problem on my 95. Alpine does not have a wire interface for their own CD player. If you decide to use the
Alpine your CD will work only through the FM portion of the radio. You must go to a after-market player if you want a real
CD player.

Also I kept the Panisonic 12 disc changer and radio when I sold
the car. I have everything you need including instructions and
original box. Removeable face and hands free remote. E-mail me
if interested.

After you read the tech tips from the socal web site and are ready to do the install, e-mail me, I installed mine and saved about 10 of the steps they do, and didnt have to drill a hole in my snake...
Cheers,
