Hi all, I have a 1997 gts. It kills batteries in a day and even killed my battery tender.

So I know it is related to the alarm/lock. The car won't lock/arm the alarm with the key fob. I am not certain it is a door switch, because the dome lights go out when I close the doors. Maybe the hood switch or trunk switch? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Door LEDS stay on ALL the time?

Alarm work any better with car on charger?

Fob battery new &properly installed?

Fob re-synced?

You may need to do an ignition off draw test (IOD).....
pulling fuses until circuit found. A search will reveal tons of info...or...call someone.

I'll check on the door LEDS, and double check the fob but I'm 99% sure the battery / synch is good.

I guess what I'm after is - will not being able to arm the alarm cause a battery drain in and of itself? Is the fob issue symptomatic of a door switch or control module issue?

Ok confirmed the LEDs do go off but it won't let me arm the alarm still (or lock and unlock on the key fob).
