That wasn't actually true, however, I am going to get the sills painted in the next few weeks. The car is red, I just thought that if two or three cars had it done together the cost would be nil. I have the paint and will taking the sills off tomorrow. Send me a PM if you are interested. All the GenII's 96 and later are the same red paint code.

Jack, are you sure the cost would be nill? Prep is 95% of a paint job.
I am taking them off today and will take them to the shop of a friend and have him give me a price. I will contact those interested before the end of this week. I plan on wet sanding mine before I take them in.
I don't believe you can clear-coat, due to the heat. The 3M protectors are available as a DC part number/kit, I already have bought them. You could also buy the sheet material and do your own. Eastwood (web) has the sheet material.
Pre-prep is part of the cost, however, to get these right they are going to have to paint them at least twice and wet sand between coats.

Base-clear for sure! One step acrylic will never look as good.
