I think your owners manual tells you how to do it properly. Just keep that oil changed regularly.

NO,NO there is a new way.

First 200 miles keep under 2.5K with light throttle run-ups
Chanage oil
400 miles under 3.5K RPM
600 miles under 4K
800 miles under 4.5K
1000 miles under 5K

Never floor it till after 1K. I'm at 600 miles. Good luck and congrats.

Friend- take my advice and don't do what you did on the 98 RT-10. I told you then that disconnecting every other sparkplug wire and dropping the hammer to redline was a bad idea. Worse yet I could not believe it when you disconnected just the left bank of wires and redlined it in reverse. No wonder that silver pig coughed and hiccupped everywhere you dragged it. The correct procedure involves the light throttle ups indicated and is outlined in your viper mag,or just do a search...but please-leave the wires alone.

You have the correct procedure as outlined by El Diablo. He may be the devil, but he is sending you down the correct path this time. The video and instructions are from 1998, so they are way out of date. Have fun and remember, full throttle when you get to 1000 miles ----------- oh , the anticipation.

These guys have it all wrong!!!!

The best way to break it in is to follow these steps:

1) Ship the Viper to me.

2) Let me break it in for you.

Congratulations!
