There is alot of talk about the weaker 01-02 motors with the Hyperutectic pistons. Has anyone ever actually had one fail or know of one that has failed without a power adder on the car(i.e. Nos, SC or turbo)?

an 800rwhp creampuff? I dunno who's car that was. 700+, sure. Here is what happens when you push that to the limit too much (this was out of an 01 when the water/**** line on a 6.5lb ROE car happened to pop out):

And this was just about 600rwhp. no, not mine...

Mr Macedo has been pushing the envelope with good success. Believe it was a paxton setup with water/**** that made 79x. so maybe it wasnt 801 but impressive nonetheless.

Hey John,
you must be thinking abiut Fuelman's(John Canal) car. I think he went 143 in the 1/4. Puts him at about 760 RWHP I think.

I dusted nine of them in my '01, but I was using nitrous. You should never have a problem on a stock car. If I was going to keep a car stock, I'd actually prefer them. They're lighter, and they don't shrink and swell as bad as forged slugs.
