sorry for late reply. It will be around $500 for the 4300k kit or $600 for 6000k kit. i will probabaly order mine in about a week - group purchase or not.

sbkim, I ordered a Viper-specific kit on Friday through www.mvpmotorsports.com that is made by Phoenix Microlite. I think several other people have bought the Phoenix Viper kit in the past and it's all Philips components. I should have it middle of next week and I can post how it fits, works, etc.

Sal, how did it all go together in terms of fit and design? Did you get the 4300 or the 6000 kit? Personally I prefer the nice white light to the blue, but thats just a matter of taste I guess.

The Xenon Depot kit had excellent quality and I purchased the 6000k version. I used that kit on my previous Supra and was very satisfied. The kit consisted of a Phillips ballast/igniter(Packaged together), wiring harness(fused) and the bulbs.

On my Viper and my current Supra, I went with the Catz 6000k kits and I must say the Catz kits are definitely even higher quality than the Xenon Depot(not to say Xenon Depot is bad). The Catz kit separates the ballast and igniter therefore having to mount 2 boxes instead of one. The Xenon Depot kit pulls power from the battery where the Catz kit pulls power from the factory headlamp harness.

Performance wise, I don't see a difference.

But the Catz kits are no longer available unless you find one from an individual or a dealer who has any left over.

Update: Over the weekend I installed the HID kit that mvpmotorsports had drop-shipped to me from Phoenix Microlite (I've also seen this company referred to as Pacific Microlite, and I'm not sure which is correct). Install was plug & play, no cutting or splicing. And everything fit inside the stock housing. The only trick is finding a place to mount the ballast/igniter, which I did by wire-tying a flat piece of plastic on the inside of the rear cover in between the two upper bolts that hold the cover on, and using the supplied velcro pad on the flat piece of plastic and the ballast box. Using a plastic piece was necessary because the back of the cover has raised fins on it and doesn't have enough surface area to stick the velcro pad on. You will also need to change the two mini-fuses in the fusebox for right and left low beams from 10 amp to 15's, as suggested in the instructions (I tried it without it first and promptly blew a 10).

I haven't had a chance to thoroughly evaluate the light pattern, but just looking at it in the driveway and garage it looks very similar to the stock one, only obviously much brighter and whiter. This kit was $505 and consisted of all Philips components (the bulbs and integrated ballasts/igniters). So far I'm very satisfied with it.

Curious as to the gauge of the wire that was protected by the 10 amp fuse and now a 15 amp. Understand that the power surge of the HID's is momentary, but if a load were to occur elsewhere in the circuit, would the wiring safely handle it?

My guess is probably, but a relay might be a safer way to go....
